Flashing yellow light and code 1 and 2

According to the Dell support site, this is a possible motherboard failure. The suggest corse of action is to disconnect all interal and external peripherals, with the power off and disconnected. This would include the printer, scanner, ext. drive, monitor, interal dvd drives, extended graphics card (if installed), ect. I would leave the memory and hard drive in place for now. If the comuter boots up, turn it off again and add the monitor to the mix (on the integrated video card). Then add one peripheral at a time and repeat till you find the bad part.
If the computer is still giving you the error, it is most likely a bad motherboard, and that will need to be replaced. If you are not computer savy enough to do this, take it to a computer repair shop to get the work done.

Hope this helps

Computer shut down and red light flashing five times then three second pause and repeats

According to the troubleshooting guide for this model, the red light flashing five times indicates a problem in the RAM (memory), before the video subsystem is ready. You may just need to open the case and make sure the memory sticks are fully locked in their slots. If you just added new memory, it might not match the required specs.

Blank screen and the power LED flashes Red five times, once every second, followed by a two second pause, and the computer beeps five times. (Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue flashing.)

Cause Pre-video memory error.

Reseat DIMMs. Power on the system.

2. Replace DIMMs one at a time to isolate the faulty module.

3. Replace third-party memory with HP memory.
4. Replace the system board.

Emachines model 4026. We had a short power cut. The computer went off and now will not start. At the back of the machine close to the power plug is a round green L.E.D. light. This is now constantly...

it looks like the power supply went bad, before try to do something else. I would recomend you to get you powe supply (part #) and order a new one . it is really simple to install it. the power supply is on the back of the computer where you see the green L.E.D light it is what gives power to the whole system.

follow this link and watch the video to know how to install it.

Gateway computer does not turn on

Without seeing the machine, I'm thinking you have a motherboard problem. But try these troubleshooting steps before throwing in the towell:
Open the case and disconnect the CD cable. Now try it. If it still doesn't work, disconnect the hard drive and try it.
Let me know what happens. I've seen CDs mess up a system like this. I many times will swap out the power supply, but I'm thinking with the lights flashing, its a more serious problem.

No power

Had the same problem after the electric went out due to a storm. When the electric came back on the computer wouldn't turn on. There was a light flashing on the Power Supply and on the mother board. I disconnected the large white Power connector from the motherboard, waited 15 seconds and plugged the connector back in, the light came on solid, press the on/off switch and the computer booted up and continued to work fine.

Computer won't start up!

Waiting for 10 or 15 or even 30 minutes doesn't make much sense to me. What kind of flash drive or drives do you use? .. USB Thumb/Pen/Flash drive? .. If your flash drives in "My Computer" folder just happen to disappear, does the computer still working or freezed state? When you say your computer does not want to start on AT ALL.' the machine is not running at all or just that the operating system is not booting up?
