This may be something to do with the AV cable, because there is a switch at the bottom on it (the end connecting to the console) and it has a switch which changes from TV to HDTV and svise sversa so what i suggest is flicking the switch up or down and turn the console on then back on hope fuly this helps you

Three red lights flashing on power up. no sound no picture. will open tray. green power light comes on at the power pack.av cables secure. ??? happens all the time can not use console.

his indicates a hardware failure inside the xbox. Your xbox 360 will need to be serviced by Microsoft. There are many internal problems that can cause the three red lights, also known as the "red ring of death" If you would like more information, wikipedia has a good explanation.

You can call 1-800-4MY-XBOX to start the repair process with Microsoft.

My xbox 360 has no picture but sound only no red lights green ok

First take off my hard drive on the 360. Then plug it to the tv not with HDTV (use the red, yellow and white make sure it is on tv not HDTV) because it will not work for HDTV setting . then plugit into the wall with the 360 laying down not up and down and turned it on. (no picture but sound) with the 360 on take 1 towel fold it long ways and wraped it around 360 from back to front (make sure you cover the fans in the back to make it over heat.) leave your 360 on until it red rings (you can hear the 360 quit down. it takes about 15-30 mins depending on how fast it over heats. once this happens unwrap the 360 and turn it off wait 5 secs and power it back on and there you go you should have picture and sound again. if you still have problem you can now can send it to get repaired since there is a 3 year warrenty for red ringed 360's.

No picture or sound on the tv

where you put the cables for the sound and picture if you look on the end where you plug it into the xbox 360 you will see a little switch it has HD and TV on it depending on what your tv supports (HD ready TV) (normal TV) switch that switch to what TV you have (e.g. HD TV, switch the switch to HD) if that doesnt work then try checking that you have all the cables in the right ports if you have pluged the HD cables into a normal TV then this is not going to work, check cables and check the switch!
