Whirlpool Duet won't drain, won't spin and makes a light thumping noise

It is full of water. When I turn it to spin drain nothing comes out of the rear drain hose and the drum does not spin. I checked the rear hose and it is clear. Any advise can't afford a repairman!

My whirlpool duet will go through full wash cycle and when it get to rinse it does full rinse but light for spin does not go on and it doesn't spin it stays in spin cycle (no light on) but it does not...

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Whirlpool duet makes loud noises(Hummm) during spin ( drain) cycle. Any idea what would cause that? Unit seems to function properly. Could it be out of balance?

You will need to clean the catch out that is located in front of the pump. Sounds just like it is full of lint or has something clogging it restricting the water from draining. This is where the humming comes from. If you take the bottom panel off. You can see the catch. Just open and clean out.

make sure to look really close all it takes is alittle whole in that seal anywhere to cause a leak try to look close while it is running but first dry everything you can and then run it. also make sure your door glass is clean if it is leaking down the front just alittle dirt or hair can cause a leak aswell

Whirpool Duet Sport Front Loading Washer is making a funny noise

open top cover (two or three screws on rear and slide back) and look at rear of tub checking clearance to rear panel and nothing touching belt or pulley. whirlpools tend to have a high pitch low volume whine anytime motor operates.
you really dont want to replace that bearing. part of tub assm. $400 part plus labor

Flashing F2

“F02” (Drain Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked?
Is the drain hose frozen?
Is the drain hose clogged?
Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor?

After running this check list, plug back up and try a complete cycle using cold water and no detergent. Sudding can mimic a drainage issue as well. make sure you are using the correct HE detergent to prevent over sudding.

My Duet washer doesn't run through the entire spin cycle on heavy duty setting. Clothes come out of washer, naturally,WET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems to spin out better on the normal cycle. spin cycle dosent...

If the drain time exceeds eight minutes, the water valves are
turned off and “F/02” is flashed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two
times to clear the display.
NOTE: After four minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed,
then four minutes later the “F/02” error code will be
displayed.

Possible Causes / Procedure
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make
sure the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.

Whirlpool Duet Sport not running it makes clicks and it grinds

A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.=======
It's noisy Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Whirlpool Duet Sport WSW8300 Washer - Thumping noise by extractor pump at the end of wash and rinse cycles for several minutes.

Believe it or not, this is normal. The pump runs until the water is extracted and begins to cavitate as it pumps air. These pumps will make some noise. As long as it is draining properly, and your clothes are coming out pretty dry, I would not replace it. However, if you are experiencing louder than usual noises, you may have something caught in the pump reservoir. You do have to clean the pump occasionally. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

A new drain pump will run you in the neighborhood of about $70 to $80. You can order them online at searspartsdirect.com. If you've already had two repairmen look at it, replaced the unit once and it did the same thing, AND had the Whirlpool staff tell you this is normal, you may want to consider that there's nothing wrong with your unit. I know its hard to believe that someone would design something this way, but the manufacturers aren't perfect. I've worked on these units numerous times with similar problems and had to either tell the customer that there was nothing wrong with the unit and basically deal with the noise, or replaced the pump at their persistence. I just thought they were throwing their money away on something that probably will not change. I hope this gives you some answers, and hope it will help you in some way.
