Question about Canon BubbleJet i320 Printer

Canon i320 I keep getting an error message saying my print head is not installed. It is, ive tried everything, im stumped. Any solutions? Thankyou.

    I have exactly the same probem! My i320 worked nicely for 4 years and suddenly stopped working giving me same message...

    I have also the same problem, cleaned the injectors, replaced the cartridges by new ones and did a deep maintenance. It worked for a couple of days but then the same msg appeared "head not installed". The wrierdest think is that sometimes it works, ej. when i restart the computer, or clean once again the injectors.

    Yes, we have the same problem. For years the printer worked well, then one day the message appeared: "the printer has no print-head".
    Tried cleaning the heads, but the same message appears...
    Got new ink cartridges and still nothing changed.

    Any further suggestions would be appreciated!

    Same problem--- had the printer for 3 years. ???
    Tried everything in Maintenance, even new ink, cleaning as well as possible from the outside, plugging and replugging.

    Same error message after installing Windows Vista Service Pack. Restarted printer worked once. Removed printer head worked once. Also unable to install Lexmark X4550 all in one. Out of printing business.

    I have the same problems, my i320 was ussually working well, and someday suddently a message "Print head is not installed" and I tried everything exept buying a new "Expensive" head. Now I only can keep saying.. " Not installed.. my ***"

Try unticking ENABLE BIDIRECTIONAL SUPPORT on the Ports Tab under Printer Properties accessed through control panel / Printers and Faxes. Try to print - get error message Enable Bidirectional Support. Reverse back into Ports Tab and re-enable Bidirectional Support and try printing again.

    I took some tape cleaning fluid and wiped the contacts of the print head, then reset the i320 (pull the plug and USB connection; open the front; hold the power button down while plugging in the printer then closing the front; press the power button and reconnect the USB). Thankfully, the i320 works fine again.

Take the printer head out.
Clean the contacts on the back with some clean cloth or cotton
Put it back and try to print.

I tried this after having the problem. It worked once for me. But now my Canon i320 has other problem: indicator flashes orange light 7 times and just not printing.

I have a Canon Pixma 260 photo printer which I have not used for 2-3 years. Everything seems to be working EXCEPT when I try to print, nothing appears on the photo paper! I just bought a new ink cartridge...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I'm getting the error message "The type printer head is incorrect" "Install the correct Print Head" I called Canon help yesterday. Took out the print head, turned off the machine, installed...

sounds like the print head contacts are getting loose or are dirty, try cleaning the contact pads, re-seat the unit and try again, to do this gently rub the contacts with a white eraser works good for this job. if this helps you, please provide some thumbs up. cheers.

I have a message coming saying the printer head needs to be fix. What do i need to do to get it to work.

First check for foreign objects in the printer cartridge area or a loose print head.

Then there are two possibilities if it was a Printhead error. You can replace the printhead. Order one from Canon support: 1-800-828-4040 Monday-Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 midnight. EST, excluding holidays. Say Order Parts to be connected to the Parts Desk. Be sure to have your model number (i320) or part number (QY6-0044-000) ready for the sales person. This is a non-returnable item. The other option is that the entire printer needs repair (professional service).

You can't tell which issue you have until you try a new printhead.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Has not been used for a few weeks. Will print colour. Have replaced black cassette.Have done all maintenance programs

Your print head is likely dried out. I would trying running a few cleaning cycles and see if it improves. If not replacements are available for a fair price at the following website:

Instal cartridge message when everything is installed

It's telling you that you need a new printhead, Canon confuses us with that error. It's not talking about inks, it says replace printhead.

Print head error message

if yr printer is under woranty u need to do company services system coz i think that u do what as u abov say that u do a initial stape or if yr printer not on woranty and if u know a normal clining system do cline pritner otherwise u need to replace head...

if yr printer show red light blink do press 5sec. then print it..may be it's help u if u have any quary tell me feel free...
