Avoid too many phone extensions and check your line for loose connections or corroded copper wires especially on your conduit box.

provide DSL splitter for every phone extension you've made.

hope this solves your problem.

Netgear wifi vs moto x phone

Step 1
hey can you login to your router of yes make sure your router is dhcp enabled, then on you phone kindly delete or forget your current wifi settings, then do a phone restart and register a wifi (connect to a new wifi spot) and try again.

Step 2
  1. step%203.png
If the page displays, you have Internet access. If the page does not display in a minute, see the "No Internet With New Router, Computer or Adapter: MAC Spoofing" article.
  2. Determine if the modem's IP address can be seen.

In the router interface, go to the Status Page. For more information, see your router user manual.
    step%202.png
If the modem's IP address cannot be seen, reboot the modem, router, and computer, in that order. Be sure to wait for each device to completely reboot before rebooting the next.

If the modem's IP address is seen, and you stuill cannot access the Internet, you might have a problem with your browser's settings. Your security might be set too high for the Internet service you are trying to use, or your browser might be configured for a dial-up connection. In Internet Explorer you check this using Tools > Internet Options > Security > Default Level. If the slider is set to High, change it to Medium. Click Tools > Internet Options > Connections. If the radio buttons in the center are not dimmed, settings for a dial-up connection are being used.

I can not connect to the Internet. I have WiFi connection but can't do anything else

Plug your computer/laptop directly into router. Can you get to the Internet then?
If you CANNOT get to the internet when your computer is plugged into the router, reboot your router. If it doesn't have a power switch, unplug it. Leave it unplugged. Next, you need to figure out if you have another modem for DSL or Cable. If you do have another DSL or Cable modem, unplug that device to. After 5 minutes has elapsed for both devices being unpowered, plug in the DSL or Cable modem to the power source. Keep the router unplugged from power. After your DSL or Cable modem has powered up for 5 minutes, plug your router into the power source. Wait a few minutes. Reboot your computer/laptop. Try the wireless connection again.
If you CAN get to the internet when your computer is plugged into the router. Reboot your computer. Try to connect again. If you cannot connect after rebooting, make sure you are connecting to YOUR OWN wireless access point and not someone else's.
Do you have other computers/laptops/wifi devices that CAN/CANNOT connect to your wireless / access the Internet?

D-Link Router, Model DI-524 is not able to register IP address. My cable company did maintenance yesterday and this morning unable to link to internet with Router hooked up to modem. Apparently no good...

Sometimes when ISP's do maintenance the DHCP servers re-assign new IP numbers. When you have symptoms like yours it's because the modem, router, and computer are working off previously assigned old IP numbers that may have then been re-assigned to other customers modems after the maintenance. Same with the router. Rebooting your equipment causes them to pull new IP numbers and things start working again.

So, usually a reboot will fix it. Turn off the computer(s). Turn off or unplug the power cables from both the modem and the router. Keep them off for 3 or 4 minutes. Leave the data cables connected. Plug the power to the modem back in FIRST. Give it a few minutes to come up. Any lights should be green. If the lights don't come up green on the modem you'll need to call the cable company.

Second, plug in the router and let it come up. Again, lights should be green. Lastly, turn on the computer.

That should do it. If not, please post back. There are other things to try.

My belkin N router always disconnects on the internet. im sure its not a modem issue coz when i try to restart my router its connected again to the internet. my belkin router model is f5d8233-4v3....

Disconnections are generally relative to the Internet Provider and Speed. If the speed drops, the router can disconnect and reboots. Just make certain you always update all drivers and especially if you are in Windows, keep up with current updates. Check your device drivers and do update from there also.

For no reason, my HP laptop stopped working the internet. It works perfectly otherwise. I hard connected the laptop directly to my wirelessouter as well as my modem, still it will not connect to internet.

Connectivity issues can be many.

I would start my first rebooting the main modem.
Once that is up, reboot the wireless router.
Once that is uo, reboot the laptop.
Try to connect.

If that does not work, eliminate the wireless router and connect the laptop directly to the modem via Ethernet cable and reboot the computer again and see if it works. If it does, then it is something with the wireless router. If it doesn't, i would contact the provider so they can verify that they can see your modem on their network. If they cannot, they will advise you further (hardware/cabling issue). This is all assuming that nothing has been changed on any settings of the laptop, router or modem.

Have excellent connection cant get on internet

First thing to try is rebooting devices in this order, 1.Modem, 2.Router and 3.Computer.

If the above did not fix your issue then keep reading.

Plug you computer directly into your router via an ethernet cord and try accessing internet again. If this fixed it, then you have some wireless settings misconfigured. A "hard reset" can possibly fix this by restoring all settings to default. There is a little pin sized hole on the back of your router, inside of it is a button. Stick something like the end of a paper clip into it and press for 5 seconds while the router is plugged in.

If it is still not working then plug your computer directly into your modem via an ethernet cable and reboot the modem then your computer (in that order). Once everything is back up and running, try the internet again. If this fixed it, your router is the culprit and is either misconfigured or malfunctioning. Perform a hard reset as described above to put all settings back to default on your router and try the internet again.

If you still do not have internet access then you either have a computer problem or your internet has a problem or has been shut off.

To rule out the possibility of a computer problem, try your computer at a friends house or work to see if it can access the internet there. If there is an unsecured wireless router that you can pick up from home, try using it just to see if you can get internet access.

If the computer does work when connected to someone elses router, then you need to call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to see if there is a problem with your account and have them fix it.

Remember that every time you connect a different piece of hardware (router, computer) directly to your modem, you have to reboot your modem so it leases an IP to that specific piece of hardware.

Motorola SB5101 SURFboard Cable Modem Reboots Itself

If your modem has a reset button I would start there. If it doesnt, then you might be able to configure it manually, usually typing in 127.0.0.1(you can still access your modem even if you do not have internet) See if there is a reset button inside the settings, if not, then just keep a look out for any odd settings that might explain what it is doing. If none of this works, then you probalby have a bad cable modem, however, I would try a different CAT5 cable just to be safe, you never know, it could be a bad wire causing a short-out or something.

Router not recognizing internet connection from cable modem.

No, you do not need a Hub. You also should not need to add the mac address. On the router, you need to enable DHCP so that your PC can get its IP address from your router. Then try your reboot again. Modem------------->Router----------------->PC. Wait about 1 minute between each device for them to sync up. Make sure that your PC IP settings are set on obtain IP address automatically under Control Panel----->Network Settings

Cannot connect to internet through DI-524

After you've rebooted your wireless router...make sure you reboot the cable-company (or DSL) modem while the router is connected to it and on. The modem seems to recognize the router properly only in this way.

Simply unplug the power to the cable-modem and plug it in again.
If the cable-modem has a battery back-up you'll want to remove that as well.
