Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
My husband and I drive tractor trailer. I have had a laptop and pc card to get on line for 6 years now. We had ATT then they changed there name to Cingular. We had a Sony 860 with Cingular. It worked great for two years. Cingular changed there name to ATT and our cell phone service was sooo bad and so was the pc card service. About 2 weeks later the cell phone service was great but the pc card service was still almost stopped. We were told to up grade our pc card so we did. We had a 881. I uninstalled the 860 and installed the communication manager for the 881. I could get on line for 5 min. then kicked off. When I looked at the device wizard the card info was not there so I would reinstall the cd.I got a blue screen so I called ATT tech. They said they were having problems with that and to go on line and download the patch. I said I was sitting in a 80' long truck/trailer and were 2500 miles from home. He told me to go to WIFI. I dont have a clue how to use that or where to find it. He told me to go to Starbucks. Like I could get my truck near one of them! We went to ATT. The tech worked on my computer for 3 hours. Sent us to best buy. They got my computer working. WE went back to ATT they tryed to install the communication manager. He got the blue screen. He handed me my laptop , gave me the money for my pc card I payed and said go to Verizon. I did. I now have a Verizon PC Card. I am on my husbands 6 year old laptop today. I installed the Verizon cd but could not connect on the internet. I looked in my device manager and 2 of my usb hug have red xs. I ran the cd in my husbands computer and have been on line and it is fast! What do I need to do to get my usb hub to work. I uninstalled it and shut my computer down and the same thing. I am not great with computers but I do know how to do some thing.
The tech at att and best buy tryed that and I did that more than once and it did not work. Any more ideas?

Your laptop should have been supplied with a Utility CD which contains a copy of the user manual and all the drivers. There is also a copy of the drivers on the laptop itself, you can find it by browsing to the c:\applications\drivers folder. Finally you can download some of them from The Tech Guys website.
The Wireless LAN card uses a Ralink RT72 chipset so if you're struggling to find drivers then the "USB(RT257x/RT2671)" ones on the Ralink site should work - http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php.
Memory Upgrades This laptop has two memory slots. One slot is accessed by removing the cover underneath the laptop (see the "Bottom of Laptop" section below)
