You may be best reseting the router. It looks like the password or username are not the factory default. You will see a small reset button on the back, put a paperclip in here on hold down for 5-10 seconds until the lights flash and the router restarts. You will now be back to factory defaults - IP, username and password

How to find out netgear router password

All netgear routers have the same default user names and passwords, so unless you have changed it you should still be able to use the default one set by the manufacture.
IP address: 192.168.1.1
User name: admin
password: password
This is the default info for netgear.
If you are looking for your wireless password it will be found in wireless settings of the router on the admin page for your router.

Have forgotten password. How do I find this?

Which password do you mean? The wifi passowrd or the admin password?
The admin password is likely to be password (if it hasn't been changed) but the Wifi password you will only be able to see if you can access the router.
Easiest way is to use an ethernet cable between the router and the computer. Open up the netgear admin page (admin & password), then on the left hand side click on Set-up and then select wireless settings. Your wifi password will either be written on the next page or you will see four boxes of numbers with a blue spot against one of them. That one is your passowrd.

I hooked up my wireless and dsl router again and I forgot the password to get into it

Try a hard reset (small button on the back of the router, usually recessed and accessably using a paperclip to push it in)

This will restore the router to factory settings. The password and user name will revert back to the factory ones which for netgear is

User Name = admin
Password = password

Then once your into the router settings you can set the username and password to something you want.

Hope this helps

Router Set-Up

I do not know how to find out the password if they are not the default for Netgear, however you can try to reset the router settings to defaults. Use a paper clip, and push in a small button between where you plug in the power and Ethernet cables(while the router is on). After this the user name and password should be back to default, which are user name: "admin", password: "password" without the quotes.
