New Hitachi miter saw C10FCG can't get clamp lever to loosen to set bevel angel. Help?

I have a Bosch, and I am not really familiar with your model Hitachi. However, I do know that most compound miter saws have a locking pin that clicks in at frequently used settings like 90 and 45. This pin must be released (pulled out) before the bevel can be changed.

I did a 45 degree bevel cut with my Dewalt portable table saw and now I can not get the blade back to a 90 degree position, any thoughts?

Did you check to see if the saw has a locking nut on the front of the bevel gauge handle? Its possible you just locked it into position and forgot to unlock.

Dewalt 12 inch compound sliding miter saw

This saw has locking indexing to set bevels for 52 degree crown molding the other common crown angle is 45 degrees, the bevel setting needs to be other than where the locking indexs are for the 52 degree crown. Problem is that the bevel lock does not securely hold at the bevel angle required. Is their an adjustment to get this lock to hold tighter.

Suspect that a part was left out of the bevel adjust mechanism. Best to take the saw back and get a warranty replacement--let warranty fix the defect. Can you change the bevel of the blade by pushing/pulling the blade? I would suspect a missing worm gear on the bevel control shaft if you can. Otherwise, look for loose/missing set screws on the shaft or possibly a missing key. Good luck!

I have purchased a dewalt 718, 12 inch sliding double bevel saw , private sale, saw was only used a couple of times and is in new condition .Checked cutting bevels and found that the left 45 degree does...

The fence may be getting in the way of the arm when you adjust the trunion assembly fully to one side or the other for bevel cutting. Adjusting the fence all the way out away from the trunion assy. should allow full 45deg adjustment. If this is not the case, it could be--even though its only slightly used--that there is sawdust built up enough in the housing to keep the arm from fully adjusting.

While the latch COULD indeed be faulty, it generally should always be tightened/locked so that the trunion assy. is fimly "locked" before cutting as this is designed to keep the saw from shifting mid cut, causing binding, uneven cuts, broken blades, seized bearings, etc.

I have a 10" ryobi table saw and my bevel will not return to the 0 degree position. I can change the angle, but I can not get the blade to sit straight up and down. I can push it almost to zero with much...

I have a Ryobi folding table saw and I learned how to adjust the bevel through trial and error. There are two allen key machine set screws in the top of the table. One for 90 and the other for 45. I backed the 90 screw off past 90 and than set the blade exactly at 90. Now I screwed the allen screw in to touch the blade. It seemed to work for me. Mind you it will have to be checked often to insure a perfect cut. Good luck.
