If your GE Washer is like mine all you need to remove the front is a 2 inch putty knife. Insert it in the seam between the top and front panel about 6 inches from the corner. You will find a clip there. Push the clip backwards with the putty knife while pulling gently on the corner of the front panel, the clip will come loose and the front panel will come froward on that corner. Repeat the procedure on the other side and the front panel will come right off. To put the panel back on just insert the bottom of the panel in the bottom clips and snap the top right back into place. This makes access to the inside of your GE washer a breeze. Before doing this always disconnect your electrical plug.

Might be a blocked filter or drain - Clean your filter out first - its located at the front or the side of the majority of machines nowadays and they are usually easy to pop out and clean. If that doesnt work try pouring caustic soda or one of the drain cleaning products from the supermarket down the sink to clear it.
Check the manual first!
There may be a panel at the front and bottom of the machine which is removable and just pops off.
Inside you will find a port that can be opened.
This is designed to collect debris and can sometimes become clogged.
If you find it and there is water backed up then you should find a tray to catch the debris and water that will flood out when you open it!
the ND stand for NO DRAIN the filter on the pump is clogged,or the pump itself is clogged, the washer will not spin till it is drained, remove front panel by removing door and the screws that are opposite if it were hinged on othe side pop off front panel and check filter/pump for blockage
There is a small 4 inch square door on the bottom right of the front of the machine. Press the right hand side of the door and it will pop open. Pull out the small drain hose, drain off any excess water, unscrew the corcular filter cover to extract it. Instructions and pictures can be found on page 17 of your user manual. If you do not have a manual, you can download one here:
Unfortunaetely there is no good way to check that with out getting to the contacts and ohming them out to make sure that the switch is bad....most of the time though it is not hard to pop the top of the machine enough to check that...just need to find where the tabs are located and pop them with a screw driver...
Problems with a washing machine not spinning or not draining are often inter related..
If you are having a problem with your top load washer then check out this tip...
The draining is controlled by drain pump in the washing machine.
If the drain pump is clogged or got loose then water will not drain properly and this problems will occur.Remove the drain pump and drain hoses.
First thing you can do is take the drain hose and blow into it and check if its getting blocked. If the air is passing through the hoses then loosen the hoses to the pump. You might want to get some pinch off pliers to save water from going ever where or a shop vac to **** out the tub. If the pump is getting warm current is flowing to it and propeller is jammed more than likely. The front should have a couple of 1/4 screws at the corners on the front should pop after removing them.If you require parts then you can buy them from www.repairclinic.comThanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
I fixed one of these with a drain problem not long ago. Their was a shoestring in the pump. To get to the pump you remove the front cover. The pump comes apart easily for cleaning. Have your mop ready. This old school manual gives directions for removing the front panel. The top does not pop off the front pops off on these washer.
sounds like the belt is probably laying on the bottom of the machine. pop the front lower panel off (2 screws) and look under the machine. also found there is a trap. worth cleaning while under machine
"dE" means that the door hasn't been closed properly. Check the inner seals of the washing machine particuarly at the bottom where water can get clogged. Also check the rubber seal around the front door to see if it has popped out or out of alignment. Also, "DE" in full letters can mean that the drain needs to be cleaned. Switch off the washing machine, pull out the flap on the bottom LH front of the machine, find the water tube and drain the water out of the LG. Then unlock and inspect the actual plastic tray/grid when twisted to unlock and pull out. There should also be a "drain" function on the main dial as a general maintenance option. Make sure you do this to keep your machine going.
Dont forget to rate this please if this solution works. Many thanks.
