I have K8V-X SE motherboard AMD CPU with windows 7 32bit but my audio card dont work. With windows XP and original soundmax drivers it was work. How I can resolve this problem.
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers if you don't have a disk with the sound drivers you have to download them

Hello i have a k8v-mx motherboard and i have windows 7 installed, i dont seem to find working sound driver for that id apriciate if you coud help me, tahnk you in advance.
Your motherboard does not support Windows 7. You need SoundMax Audio Driver for Windows 7. If you do all the Windows updates it should find the audio driver. The link below shows the Asus website and the only operating systems it supports. Thanks for using FixYa

Theres no updated driver for ASUS K8V-X SE for Win 7, try downloading windows XP 64 bit for your missing drivers in win 7 it might work..

win 7 is new email motherboard manufacturer or find the chip on the board and search their site or email them with a request for a updated driver win 7 is still nonreleased so alot of stuff doesnt work right till the release micrsoft is not allowing a full working version cause ya know they got to get there 400 dollas out of every last one of us

K8V-X SE Sound Card In xp 64 does not work!
Hi brian_stiver,
click on this Asus link for the K8V-X SE board;
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=K8V-X%20SE&SLanguage=en-us

You must click the dropdown menu & choose Windows XP!
Than click the Search Button.
DO NOT pick Windows 64bit from the list of operating systems.

Asus list audio driver support for Win64bit here;
SoundMax AD1980/AD1888 Audio Driver version 5.12.2.5280 for Windows 64bit XP/2003.
Download the file named; ad1980_1888_51225280_64bit.zip
Create a folder on your desktop & name it Audio. Save the *.zip file in to your Audio folder. When you uncompress the the *.zip file keep all uncompressed files within your Audio folder.
The reason for keeping all the files within the Audio folder is you may need to install the sound drivers through windows device manager if the audio setup.exe program fails.
