Cant get the talking caller Id

I have gone through the manual and have set the phone up but, still the talking caller id does not work> Nor does the caller id. Also when I call the phone it does not show that a call has come in?????

Please help as I have called twice to the support line and nothing.

Let me tell you know before you ask me: Yes I have removed the batteries and the adapter for one day to cool off??
When I set up the talking caller ID I first hit the SET/Store button then the up arrow. Then set/store #3 then set/store.

I have called the help line and the people on the other end treat me as if I am stupid??
