I had a paper jam on my brother mfc 420cn printer. I cleared the jam, but the error message will not clear. I unplugged the printer and turned it back on but the message was still there. Is there a reset I can do?

This indicates the jam is not clear. Please check all areas including the removable cover on the back (by pinching the 2 squeezable tabs) and pulling out.

I have a Brother MFC 420cn and it keep saying paper jam and there is no paper jam help please

->Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam. You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the rear.

->To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

->For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.

->Replace the back cover. Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

->Try printing another document

Paper jam when there is no paper jam?

Hi

According to your problem, May there is no paper jam but memory is not cleared. First make sure that there is no paper jam. Delete all pending print job from the print queue. Turn the printer and your system both for 2-3 mins and turn the both again. It will clear the memory.

My printer Brother DCP 145C doesn't want to print. It takes the paper and then stops. It displays message: Print Unable 36.

Check for a paper jam. I just encountered this same error on my Brother MFC-290C, and that was the cause. I had to unplug the printer's power cable to clear the error message.

Brother MFC-8840D printer w/false paper jam indication.

With my Brother 8840D I have had paper jams that when cleared would not delete from the display nor would the machine operate until I unplugged the machine for around eight hours. I guess it is a sort of reset or reboot.

Unplugging and leaving the printer powered down for ten to fifteen seconds can work wonders. Try it; you might like it.
