Help with Thompson mini walking foot...

This machine was bought last year before we moved and I misplaced the machine manuals before I ever got a chance to sew anything. My problem is I don't know too much about this machine. I went from a White home machine to this mini walking foot - they're quite a bit different. I'm a guitar amp tech/builder and when I sell one of my amps I like to make a custom cover for it to protect it from bumps, scrapes, and dust. Could anyone help me with some basic pointers; like how to thread the needle, set the tension, how to adjust the tread-per-inch, etc?? I bought the machine from the East Coast and live 100 miles east of San Francisco, so I'm not near any sewing center that would carry another manual, or pictorials. Thanks for the time, Ron I need a manual, or at least the threading instructions for my Thompson pw-201, mini walkingfoot machine. I have moved three times in the past 20 years (wow! it' been that long) & no longer have my manual. My machine has the upper tension disc/check spring on the front face of the machine, not on the side like most domestic & industrial machines. Thanks in advance. I have an older thompson..upper tension is not where the newer machines have it. I played around and got it threaded, adjusted the tension...and I am going strong. Going to use to make jeans quilts.

Didn't see a link for the site to find the manuals.

Hi

www.sailrite.com

These guys should have a manual for you. Just tell them you have a LS1 Straight Stitch.

The Thompson machine was the precursor to a whole slew of walking foot clones.

Sailrite may not acknowledge the Thompson but I have researched a few things

and the Sailrite Machines are direct descendants.

Hope this helps.

How to adjust my Thompson mini walking model PW - 300 pressure foot.

When I think 'higher lift' and leather - I think 'less pressure on the material' Ergo, release pressure on the pressure foot. Usually atop the left side of any machine. Press down on outer ring, to release pressure. Test on extra material. Hope this helps.

When I plug my Thompson mini walking serwing machine in it's running. How do I turn it off?

Undoi the foot control and you will see a small square thing called a suppressor, take it out because it has probably blown, you do not need to replace it.
