Question about Nintendo DS Console
My daughter has a DS not Lite, but each time she turns it on it says you got to enter setting eg. date of birth, time etc. she does this and it says that it need to shutdown, when she turns it back on its back to the same stuff again which means she can't play any games. Any help out there?

Sounds like corrupt firmware but there is no way to download new firmware or install it for the DS that i know of.
The DS may not have it but computers use a small watch battery to save this information. There could possibly be a small watch battery on the motherbaord for the DS that went bad and possibly if you replaced it it maybe hold it's time, date, etc. again.
I could be way off but it may help.
I did find a website that you can buy replacement parts to fix DS's.
The only thing you can buy that makes sense towards your problem is a new logic board.

The Ds memory unfortunately is not stored using power from a small 'watch type battery'. The power used for storing the memory comes directly from the Ds battery. Therefore the connections for the power for the memory from the battery may have been damaged. If your Ds was working and you haven't taken it apart and then it stopped working then please post a few more details about when it happened and I will investigate further for you.
