Question about Brother GX-6750 Typewriter

Paper not feeding

Paper can easily be slid around the rubber platen. Is there a paper release that I do not know about. Of course in this condition the typewriter can not catch or feed the paper for even the demo test.

Brother M-100 Won't Grip Paper

Best way is to remove the top cover, with out taking the Platen(large rubber roller) that the paper goes around out look to the rear there is a spring that breaks that puts pressure on a pan with feed rollers in it , replace spring or at least put a new hook in it or if you are lucky and it is not broke I could just be unhooked. Also clean all those rollers that are rubber with something nail polish remover. Do not touch plastic with this cleaner, it may melt plastic.

My MP 830 printer will no longer feed copies from the automatic document feeder. The machine makes noise like gears slipping and the paper goes one fourth of the way and then stops before it can go down. ...

Check the feed roller on that paper tray. if the roller is made of rubber clean it with the eraser on a pencil making sure to clear away any extra dust. the Eraser will re-surface the roller to grip better.
Also check inside not just for blockages but sensors that may be stuck, such sensors may look like black armatures that move easily and light sensors that easily clog with dust.
Remove the print cartridge and dust out the entire paper path.

If you can remove the platen, roller, you may find a label stuck on the deflector. Remove the label from the deflector. Make sure the deflector is installed properly.

We have a brothers GX-6750 that wont feed paper, wheel just spins.

If the Platen is moving the paper release lever is in the wrong position, if the platen isn't moving the paper feed motor will have to be replaced.

The IBM Wheelwriter 1000 won't grab the paper I put into it!

There are a few possibilities.
first be sure the paper release lever on the top left side is to the rear, if it is push firmly down on the platen (blacl rubber roller) they do work themselves out. If the platen isn't turning you may have a board problem.

Smith Corona 235 DLE doesn't advance

Does the platen move or does the paper not advance? Check the paper release lever to make sure the feed wheels are snapped in place. If the platen does not move something in the paper feed motor area.
