Question about Whirlpool GGW9250PL Gas Dryer

1 Answer

Whirlpool ggw9250pwg how much flame should I see. I have had too partialy close the main gas valve in order for the flame too stay lit. I believe it is the high limit thermostat that might be the problem. I tested it by un-screwing the sensor and moving it away from the flame. The flame came on and stay's on. As soon as I reconnect it to the tube it comes on only for 15-30 sec at most and turns off. The flame goes all the way through the tube and goes upwards into the duct a bit. Is this to much Flame? This all started when we moved and i installed it in our new house. what I have now done is partialy closed the supply line valve to limit the flame size in order to get some kind of heat to dry my clothes. It was taking uo to 2 hours to dry a regular size load. Please contact me at kenvbw@yahoo.com Thanks Ken LaBruzzi

I dont feel my solution was innapropriate, however I did read your post again and I definately know that your dryer vent is clogged or restricted. This is the reason for the long drying times and the reason for the burner assy getting hot and cycling on hi limit. Please reconsider my rating and clean/repair the vent you will be amazed at how fast it dries.

Richmond gas hot water heater. After I light pilot and main burner why does it flame out in 15 seconds?

If you had to light the main burner manually, something is wrong. Once you light the pilot and it stays lit, the flame heats the thermocouple to open the gas valve and fire the main burner. Either or both of the components you replaced could be defective.

if the pilot flame onto the thermocouple is 2 small [partialy blocked pilot feeder orifice] this will cause your described symptoms also flame 2 far from t/couple ! Tip of flame farthest from pilot burner should touch and slightly overlap tip of thermocouple

Pilot lite won't stay lit

Thermostat flame sensor. Do you see a little rod next to the pilot? That is what tells the main gas valve that the pilot is lit and it is safe to give gas. Easy swap, and you can usually just pick up a generic one.

My whirlpool 50 gal natural gas water heater wont stay lit?

Are you sure the pilot is heating up the thermocouple? Make sure the flame is close enough to the thermocouple. Also make sure the thermocouple is seated properly in control valve. Try unscrewing and resetting it back into place.

Oven lites but will not stay lit. I replaced the ignitior, checked all elec. connections, no difference. Whirlpool Model # SF367LEKWI

Sounds like the thermocouple is faulty. This is the safety device that is in the flame and is connected to the valve. Its designed to detect that the gas is lit and if it doesn't heat up then it closes the valve off, it is gas filled and has probably leaked. You will need a registered gas installer to change this part as it is a vital safety device for safe operation of gas.

Pilot light keeps going out! Will not stay Lit.

Check if the the gas pressure is sufficient (as stated on unit's nameplate). Check if the hi limit device is good. Check also if the thermopile (cylindrical metal with two wires standing behind the pilot hood) is receiving enough heat from the pilot flame. The voltage generated by thermopile should be 500millivolts in order to open pilot and main valve. If there is 500millivolt on gas valve thermopile and the pilot flame does not stay lit, you have to replace the gas valve. If the thermopile is glowing red and the voltage generated does not reach 500 millivots, you have to replace the thermopile.

My larrs pool heater will ignite, but not stay lit

If your Laars will not stay lit then the pilot generator is faulty. That is the small brass and copper piped connection near the pilot flame. It must produce 250minivolts in order to open the main gas valve and keep the gas running into the pilot burner..

WHIRLPOOL Sup Cap 465 oven turns on for 3 sec, then shuts off

The flame sensor is dirty or bad.

When the unit does not sense flame after ignition, the gas valve shuts down the system.

They can become corroded or dirty, but usually just need to be replaced.

Contact whirlpool for warranty info. If the unit is under warranty, they should send you the parts for free. If not, they can direct you in how to order the part.

Strange issue with my gas dryer and the control panel I am having a strange issue with my dryer. I have a Whirlpool gas dryer, Model: GGW9250PW0; and am having issues with the Electronic Control (mfg part 8558753). Yesterday, I went to go use the dryer and I press the "Control On" button like normal, but nothing happened. I did not get any lights or anything, yet when I open the door, the inside light comes on. I have a similar model washer plugged into the same electric outlet and everything there works fine. After researching the issue out a bit, I took off the toe panel and took off the duct-lint (mfg part W10128606) so that I could reach the wires connected to the dryer thermister and dryer thermal fuse better. I then took the wires off both of those as well as disconnected the sensor wiring harness (mfg part 3406653) and used a vacuum to clean out any lint as well as compressed air to clean off those connectors. I re-hooked all the wires back up and plugged the dryer in. I pressed the "Control On" button and all the proper lights lit up. I then pressed the "Cancel" button to turn it off, unplugged the dryer, and put the duct-lint back on. I plugged the dryer back in and tried the "Control On" and "Cancel" again, and it still worked. I then put the toe panel back on, pushed "Control On", then turned on the dryer using the "Hold to Start" button and everything worked like it used to. Here is the strange issue I am having. I ran a load in the washer and when done, I put in the dryer and tried the "Control On" button. Everything came up, but when I pressed the "Hold to Start", nothing happened. I then tried to press the "Cancel" button, and nothing happened. I could turn the knob and the different lights lit up, but none of the buttons seemed to be working. After holding the "Cancel" button for a few seconds it turned off the panel lights. I then pushed the "Control On" button again and had to press it a few times before the panel lights came on. After a little bit of playing with the buttons and knob, I was able to start the dryer. I stopped the dryer (didn't want to run it the whole time in case something is wrong) and tried to start it again. I can get the panel lights to come on, but it seems like the buttons are sticking and not fully working like they should. I don't want to have to buy an expensive part unless I absolutely need to and wanted to see if anyone can think of anything else that might be going on or that I could try before paying almost $200 for a new Electronic Control, especially if I will still have the same problem after replacing this part like some other people have reported. Thanks!
