Question about Homedics Sound Spa Premier SS-5000 Clock Radio

Remote Sensor We are not able to get the outside temperature to display on the system.  The remote sensor does not show any temperature outside - it sometimes would display the temperature when the sensor was inside the house, but it doesn't show up on the clock.  We have tried changing the batteries (three different sets of batteries) and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

same problem and I have two clocks and two remote receivers! I did read in another post that you have to wait until the atomic clock is set...

Works intermittently. Sometimes shows outside temp; sometimes just double dash. Have changed all batteries.

Make sure your time is set and the atomic clock time is recieved, then leaving the rear cover off of the transmitter, push the "tx" button not the "c/f" that is just for centegrade or ferenhight. you will see the red light on the front of reciever flash in a few seconds. The temp should display on your clock screen. If not, did the red l.e.d. light on transmitter flash. If not, its not sending data to clock. I have to reset and hit transmit every time I replace batteries on transmitter. Had no problems for over 2 years of using outside. If your not getting a reading with transmitter sitting next to clock after hitting "tx" button you may have defective transmitter.

LL.L means the temperature is beyond the lower boundary. I have 2 units and one is reporting 54.9, while the other is LL.L. I assume it is a bad transmitter. BTW - VERY hard to find this info. O.S. doesn't have much of a support site.

Why can't I receive input from the outside sending unit?

Make sure that all the batteries are good!!
This procedure outlines the typical process to pair the sensor and base.
Base Station Battery Installation

·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station. 1541 WeatherGuide Wireless Weather Forecaster with Barometer

How do I get it to display outside temperature?

Usually, batteries have to be installed in the remote unit first, followed by house unit. Allow time for the remote unit to begin sending data to the house unit, then you should see it displayed.

Changed batteries and the outside temperature still does not show

Bring the outside sensor inside. Take the batteries out of the sensor and out of the main unit. Wait 10 minutes. Put the batteries back in the remote sensor. Put the batteries back in the main unit. Do not touch any of the buttons. Wait 10 minutes. If the remote temperature is not showing within 10 minutes, try again. Once the remote temperature is showing, you can set the clock.

Remote Weather Station shows "HHH"

This means that the read is over the HIGH limit of the sensor, perhaps is too hot there. Change it to another location. josemaX
