Tv went out and now won't turn on

I thought there was a recall on any of those TVs that were purchased in the last year. The problem said that after it reached 1200 hours of use or something that there was a malfunction and the tv either wouldn't turn off, or it wouldn't come out of standby mode.

Hey, i don't know if this is a long term solution but... i had the same problem...i purchased my 32 in Akai lcd from a friend who didn't have it long enough to know about the cut-off problem. I had it on for one day, then turned it off for the night. The next morning, it would not come on. I would press the power button on both the system and the remote, the green light would come on, then back off. I checked this site and learned about holding the power button after unplugging the system. So I unplugged it and pressed the power button for about 2-3 minutes. (now i don't know if this did anything but...) i continued to press the power button as I plugged it back in. Then I let go and pressed it and the system came on. So far we just said that we will try 'not' to turn off the system if we don't have to.

I had a same problem with sharp LC-40LE340E. The service told me to change motherboard but I decided to buy a new LG TV. The sharp TV I left unplugged for a 50 days and after that when I tried again the tv started normally. I was Really surprised. Don't spend money just wait and check again. firstname.lastname@example.org
