The text must be solid and clearly written, to be recognized. Extra flares or missing parts of letterw will give the OCR something else to identify. OCR is based on the standard American English alphabet as taught in elementary school. Personalized changes will mess up the way it translates.
According to Features and Specs on Lexmarks website, this is a All in One? i.e Fax, Printer, Scan & Copy? also it's a Network type?
If so have you chosen the correct settings via the Printers Dispay and Control Panel? ...... I assume you have and everythinh in Device manager looks good, i.e no Yellow and or Red Icons over anything listed there, especially USB....correct?
If your Vista is the 32 Bit then the driver file should be: cjb5000enOSS.exe (87.7MB) If Windows Vista x63 then it will be: cjq5000enOSS.exe (132.76MB)
You need to hook the connecting cable from the sorter finisher to the back of the copier. There should be a Cable coming out of the back/side of the IR400 and that attaches to the backside of the sorter, then push the reset button and it should be ready to go. Or you can just take the sorter off of it and run it with out the finisher.
This is a common error code meaning that the printer does not understand a command. Redearch suggests that you try the following:
Be sure the printer does not go thru a power strip, but is plugged directly into the wall.
Check the printer cable, maybe swap it with another one.
Reseat the memory and formatter board.
Lengthen the power saver time to the maximum
Try printing from a different application
There have been cases where replacing the intermediate transfer belt has solved the problem.
