What make / model DVD? Try googling for the manual. Is it a parental lock or region code it asks for?

Playback tray keeps ejecting when trying to load disc

I spent the whole night trying to fix this, all I could find was an unsafe workaround, involving this:

1/ Opening it up
2/ Find that upon forcing it in the the laser was not meeting with the ******* cd
3/ Sticking my finger at the bottom of the tray and lifting it up as soon as it loaded.

Now it works but only becuase I have to do the 1-3 everytime. Phillips also withdrew the Service Manual which is different to the normal one.

I could have gone and just brought a compatible drive from alibaba but no, phillips aren't having any of my Polish diy know how meddling with thier top secret **** you know what I mean?

It plays some cd

Hi there,

Well this happens because your CD player is region lock, and you need to unlock your player so that it plays all CD's. check your user manual for the region unlock code if the region code is not there then ask to your dealer for that code.

Good Luck!!

My phillips cdr770cd recorder wont regonise any blank cds?? so unable to record

The Phillips recorder USUALLY REQUIRES you use MUSIC type CD's rather than plain type for computer. These still can be found. Apparently this had something to do with copyright and the extra cost of the music CD with the access header on it went to the recording industry. I still have found the MUSIC ones at Staples. Search Google for additional info about this. I have Phillips recorders and am fully aware of this requirement, believe me!

Unlocking Pioneer DV-410V region code

I remember that particular one yes, he emailed me the final solution to the problem. Below is the excerpt of his email to me. After doing the steps below it worked. If it does not in your case message me back. You are using the supposed multiregion DVD player that isnt multiregion when you buy it right?

"thru parental lock/password then it wanted me to enter a new country code of 4 digits so i decided to try 0000. it only let me enter one 0 but i closed the menu button"

Phillips cd recorder

try tuning the unit, into the channels. if it,s recording one channel. it could be the possibility that the dvd is tuned in to the t/v incorrectly. refer to the users manual/guide.
on setting up the player to the t/v channels.

The DVD player does not recognize disks that it used to play before.

It sounds like the DVD region (a setting in both your OS and your DVD hardware) may have been changed. DVD regions are the agreed upon method (by entertainment companies, hardware manufacturers and governments) to limit cross-border sharing of media. Most valid (read: non-pirated) DVDs have a region code. Your DVD drive will only play DVDs with a region code that matches the DVD region code set on the DVD drive.

You didn't mention your OS but if you are running Windows XP then go to Start->Control Panel->System->System->Hardward->Device Manager and find your DVD player. Right-click the DVD player and select Properties from the menu and you should see a properties dialog-box with a DVD region tab. This is where you can change the DVD region that your player will recognize. Be careful, don't play around here, most DVD players have an embedded limit on the number of times (4-or-so) the DVD region can be changed.

Hope this helps.
