I'm playing FFVII on a PS2, and I'll save my game to the memory card, but when I go to load it, there is no data... I tried saving on 2 blocks, but when I did that, the first save had a bunch of glitches and weird characters for the time, etc. The same problem happens when I try saving my FFVIII game to the same memory card. I bought it from a used game store where it was guaranteed to work- is this a problem with the card, or do I need a Sony Playstation memory card instead of Mad Catz?

A memory card is a memory card at the end of the day and mad catz is virtually just as good as the offical sony stuff. it is the memory card being faulty as it is not actually saving or showing up. try buying a new memory card

I have a play station 2 and I like to play Crash Bandicoot 2.Gortex strikes back, but the memory card won't work is this because it is a play station 2 memory card. thank you John.

First, check to see if your memory card has any room on it by turning on your PS2 while there is no game in the machine. Select your memory card, and see how many blocks are left on it, then see how many blocks are required to save Crash Bandicoot 2 games (should tell you on the game's box).

If there isn't enough room, delete some saves to make room.

If there is room, or you cannot view the saved data on your memory card then try putting it in the other slot. If putting it in the other slot does not fix the problem then your card is either damaged or the data is corrupted. In either case, you will simply need to use a different memory card.

I'm playing PSone games on my Ps2 and I am using a playstation one memory card. My ps2 loads from the memory card, but when I try to save data onto my ps1 memory card the ps2 freezes on the load screen.

YOU PROBABLY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY ON YOUR PS1 CARD AND THE PS2 DOES'T KNOW HOW TO TELL YOU THIS BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY PROGRAMED TO SAY NOT ENOUGH MEMORY WITH A PS2 MEMORY CARD. TO PLAY OFF YOU SAVED DATA TRY TRANSFERRING YOUR MEMORY TO A COMOUTER THEN TO A PS2 MEMORY CARD... BEST OF LUCK

Memory Card Corrupted

you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.

Corrupted Data on PS2 memory card

I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.

Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER, the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a grayish black square. Choose options and then delete.
I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.

Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from memory card.
I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.

Ps2 memory card wont work

check the back of the game cover to see how many blocks it will use to save the game data. Your memory card may not be big enough. You may need to buy a bigger memory card to save the data.

Playstation card

Your question is somewhat confusing, using a playstation 2 memory card, will have PS2 game saves on it, how would you play PS2 games on a PS1 from the save, you can't. If you just mean you are using a PS2 card for a PS1, the way a PS2 card saves data is different to a PS1 card, so it probably won't work You can use your PS1 memory cards in the PS2. You can only use the PS1 memory cards to save PS1 games that you are playing in your PS2. You can't save any PS2 game data to a PS1 memory card
