Re: HTC Touch DUAL
I am sorry to say that there is no easy way to do this if your device only supports Dutch. If so, you can't just change the language in the system settings like with other dumb phones. If it is a dual language phone then try this:
START (top left on the top bar), SETTINGS (1 place up from the bottom), SYSTEM (2nd tab along the bottom, just above the bottom toolbar) REGIONAL SETTINGS (the Earth icon in the middle on the 5th row),
Then it should come up on the first tab which is REGION where you can change the language from the dropdown box.
If that didn't work, then to get English on your device, you will need to flash the the device with an English ROM. To do this, you will need a special flasher that can flash ANY ROM to your device (in your case, an English ROM). You can get the flasher here with detailed instructions. You can find many ROMs here (including pretty cool custom/modified ones). Also...

I have a HTC Touch 2 which I bought in it from Italy, where I was in those days. I

is set only in Italian. Is there a download that will covert the phone to
If the English Language pack is not available in your phone's ROM, you will need to upgrade the ROM (windows) First of all you need to know the step by step procedure on upgrading the ROM, the complete guide can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 NOTE: The above guide does not apply to the CDMA devices.
Then you need to choose a ROM for your phone. You can choose from a wide variety from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430
Download the ROM and follow the guide precisely to change the ROM on your phone.
for all android phones version 1,5 and later you can go to a free
android market and download the programs 'MoreLocale' and 'Set Locale
and Language' . you can change the language into any language u want.
Hye! Download 'Schap's Advanced Config 2008' from the web; its free... or you could also use 'Diamond TF3D Config' - both are free tweak-applications; that can help change many setting in addition to its ROM language... try it... Enjoy1
I have been unable to sort this out! I am not tech savvy...however, I understand I need to obtain a Windows 6 OS in English! I´ve checked online for freedownloads & have yet to find! So many purchasers have this problem...not realizing there isn´t a language change setting prior to purchase! I´ve spoken directly to HTC with the issue of this little advertising omission!!! They blame Microsoft!!! I intend to speak to a lawyer friend. I think it´s deceitful marketing to some degree!
BTW...HTC also justified the language setting omission issue, advising me my HTC Touch is not a smartphone...not even a phone...it´s a PDA! PDA´s according to them, do not have language change settings!!! Do note however, HTC.com site does list the HTC Touch under Touch Phones in their Product window!!!
