Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
For a direct link to work you need to use a "crossover" lan cable. you can find these by going to your local circuit city or other electronics store. try using the router with the cables from each 360 hooked into lan ports 1 and 2 on the router. try it in the same room if possible. when i had a lan party i had to turn off the wireless radio of my DI-624+ wireless radio to solve the problem of the router dropping the connection.
also, be sure that both 360's network settings are either set to automatic for direct link, or have static IP (192.168.0.56 and 192.168.0.58 for example) and the correct DNS addresses (126.96.36.199 primary/188.8.131.52 secondary for d-link routers). the DNS of your specific router can be found by calling customer support for your router and asking for it.
