    Thank you

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

The company that made the computer wants me to send them my soundcard. I really do not want to get another one of these cards if it does not support a microphone. What is your opinion?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    YES

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

If it works in my old computer -- I just have to reconnect everything -- Then I should assume it is ok -- right? I have read numerous posts about folks having problem with Audigy and Vista

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

No -- only had this machine for 7 days

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Should I request a different sound card?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Is there a sound card you would recommend?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

No --- May go buy another microphone

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

stereo has a headphone jack but no mic jack

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

audio out -- the blue one?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Do not sound -- but hear static as put it in and out

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

had it in blue static -- black nothing

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

As I put in and out of blue hear static -- crackling sound

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

As I jiggle the mic cord in the jack on comuter a green light goes on and off

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    pink black green blue

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

yes- for way connected -- not sure what you meant about manual or system -- there are located very low -- I have had it open and that is where the sound card is located

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Cannot even get it to flash right now -- is it possible the card is loose

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    no --

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    SB Audigy SE

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    pink

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    So what do you suggest?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Yes --- But when I spoke to the folks that created it -- They said ONLY the bottom ones were connected to the sound card --- plugging in to the other jacks would not work- not supported by card. However, If i remove the Sound Card the system sound will work -- does that make sense?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    Hmmmm I doubt it

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    I just know another headset

    no male to male cords

    Ok give me a minute

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Wrong size will not fit in stereo

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Later i will reconnect my old computer and try the mic -- I will not try the card that scares me

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Get sound(crackle)as plug it in-- Do I have to change the mixer?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    YES

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    WEll --did get crackling

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Did it -- Sound stopped -- i then plugged mic in each color -- nothing

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

should I try the 2 other headsets

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

I tried the headset yesterday in this computer but can try it again

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

tried new headset -- hard to belive all 3 mics are defective

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    must be sound card

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Yes -- this one is easy side panel-- thumb screws

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    ok --

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    You here?

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    ok ready

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

I think so -- the ones up front go to main board

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

You have been AMAZING -- Spent SOOOO much time on this THANK YOU

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

I can see that the lower plugs go right into sound card

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    How Do I remove it

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

the plugs are right under it

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

The front plugs have wires connecting to mother board -- Bottom plugs under sound card -- which is connected to main board

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

there are 6 additional slots but according to the guys that created this they do not share sound card

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

I am not computer savy with the inside components

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Camera phone but nothing is installed to be able to send it to you -- same with camera -- i could do it and send it after I install everything --

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

    i see nothing labeled

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

the wires from additional ports plug into motherboard -- then a slot that sound card seems to be in

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

tried it no -- told yesterday it would NOT as long as sound card was in machine

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Can't see it cards are in the way- sandwiched under video card

  • lilbitter Jan 13, 2008

Well based on what we have dialouged your softwre settings is accurate

there could only be 2 other problems

1.) windows vista is corrupted and your system needs to be formatted and everything reinstalled

    or 2
    hardware failure
eighter from both microphones or your sound card..

What you can do is jack the microphone into another device or system and ensure it is working,,

Try the sound card in another system and ensure it is working

and if both are working it means windows needs to be formatted and replaced...

you can try jacking your microphone into a Headphone jack like an mp3 player and see if you hear anything (some microphoes this works with not all )

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Actually everything that could have possibly gone wrong with your setting we have checked and verified.. based upon our dialogies its more acurate then all other systems...

Do you have another pc you can try the sound card on..
Or a way to test the Microphones

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

WELL FRFOM THE Dilogue we had iand information i was given, its safe to say that all your settings are correct amd we tried everyting we could at the time.. It is hardware eighter your microphone or your sound card..Verify that they are working in another system , if they are then its your windows vista instillation. you will need to format and reinstall..

personally i believe its with your microphone. please verify that they are working.. post back here after you have tried that above and let me know whats happening....

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok that was the last 3 post are you there ? refreshing every minute

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

i posted a report abuse stating what has ovvured an management will be working to rectify the error

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Yes have you read the above post ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

i think you should try the microphones on another system first..

And try the sound card as well

I havent heard of any other problems with this card to say its defective and by all means it should support the microphone

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

I spoke to a few friends of mine here in trinidad and they read what we had done and said what we have done was acurate and by all means should have worked

Unless the windows is corrupted or hardware is not working..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Was the the microphone ever working on this computer ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Well try the microphone and card on another pc first.. An by all means if the microphones are good then YES, have them honour their warrenty and you did spen money and yu deserve a fully working system without any problems...

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Do you have an mp3 player or a mp4 or a setro with a head phone jack ??

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

well actually sound blaster is the best,

But vista has a lot of issues,,, a lot of people are hing problems with it and thats why i downgraded to Xp

I will be waiting for a second release of vista before i think about upgrading back to it..

Do you have an sound system with a head phone jack?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

actually try this.. You said your audio out is working right !

connect your microphone to your audio out and play a song, you should hear sound vibrations from your microphone if its working..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

yeah connect it to the head phones, microphones use the same principal of head phones to operate therefore you shoud hear from it as well i just tried it and it worked, so jack your microphone ito your headphone jack and play something

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    BTW keep the volume LOW

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

try it on the stero, I believe ble is line in :) but you have to check our card to be sure

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    pink is microphone

    and blue is line in

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

are the connectors loabeled in the manual or on the system ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

hold the mic jack, and tug it up and down until the green light stays on

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

aRE YOUR JACKS LABELED out, line-in , mic, ???

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

yeah it is, or the jacks are shorting, or it aint connected propperly..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

whats the exact make and model of your card ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

a sec let me make a phone call

which color jack is your microphone connected too

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    that is the correct one

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Does your system have audio ports to the frount ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Do you have a 3.5 mm to a 3.5 mm cable connector (head phone male to head phone male )

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Yeah it does actually,,, I'm thinking your card is defective but to be sure we need to try a few things ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok turn your stereo on and kack the microphone in it,,, I want to make sure that the jacks on the card aint sending out eletricity (that could cause static as well)

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

before you do that, You speakers are connected to the green yes ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

no we are just testing the mic here and looking for eletrical discharges.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

put on some music to play

while its playing , ungack your speaker and plug in the microphones

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok i am thinking deffenate mic replacement here

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

how soon can you get one or the other system hooked up to try it ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    sorry about that got disconnected

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    Yes please try them

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

yeah too hard actually,, you ever opend a pc before ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Well You want to try ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    Good open it up.

You can leave it pluged in so we can chat while you are working on it, just dont touch anything just open it up

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Sorry about that, my isp hates me :(

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok to the frount of the case you should see your audioport and cables connedted from the, trace the cables and see if its pluged inot your main board

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Are they connected to the main board ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

If i get dc just wait i will be back,, I live in trinidad and we got one Isp thats kinda retarded :(

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok now you will have to turn off your computer, remove your sound card and then log back on here ok I will be waiting for you I will refresh in 2 minutes and then 1 minute intervales tell me if you understand before you shut down.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

It goes into the sound card ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

so there isnt any on the main board , or is it shared between the sound card and the main board

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

besides the sound card are there other audio ports like that on the main board itself ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

do u have a camer phoe you can take a shot of the board and the connectors with and upload it here ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

from what you are describing it might be impropper instillation

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

i need a pic to see what is happening

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

the wires connected to the sound card it self, can you see if any is labeled mic,,

then check the one connected to the mainboard and see if that is labeled mic.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

If thw wires are spliut between the main board and the sound card you may have a split audio stream.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok i wll have to use your eyes then.. LOOK AT THE SOUND CARD AND SEE IF ANY OF THE CABLES CONNECTED TO IT SAYS MIC

and look ate the main board and see if any of those are labeled mic,, THE CABLES COMING FROM THE FROUNT AUDIO PORTS.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok connect yor microphone to the frount mic connector.

    see if the mic works

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

its written on the black jack that plugs into the pins itself, its kinda small to see, its on the black part of the cable that plugs in the board.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok so there are no wires connected to the card, the card is connected directly to the board in a white port(its called a pci slot)

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok holding the Sound card in place is eighter a screw to the side of it, or a panel that holds all the cards in place. If its just the screw you have to remove the screw and pull the card out,,

if its a panel you have to remove the panel then pull the card out, Do u understand ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Do you understand how to remove it, Do you see the screws or a panel(the panel is held in place by screws to th back or a lever

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

:) dont be scared ! just a bit of confidence is all you need and a screw driver :)

I will be here aiting for you, i will refresh in two minutes and 1 minute each time until you return, just take your time and be confident... Tell me when you are shutting down.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

at the back of the system you will see two scres holding a metal panel in place do u see it ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    I will be right here

just log back in and say i am bak ...

i will refresh in 2 minutes and every 1 minute after that...

    I WILL BE HERE :)

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    hmm ?

well there is sonething holding the card in place,, you just need to find it, if i had pictures i would have been able to tell you exactly... It could just be clamps or screws or anything, just ool ats what holding it there, To remove the card just pull it towads you.. If you give it a thug you might be able to see whats holding it >... Give it a try if you have problems log back in

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

trust me if you loose me today chanves are you wont find me ,, unless we arrage at a certine time.

    what time is it there

    ITS 4:50 pm here .

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok could you hold one minute just got to answer thy door

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    ok I'm back

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok so you got the card out, Lets connect your speakers to the froung and tell me if you hear anything

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Its the green jack you have to plug it into

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    well ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok here is what you do?

you see the speaker to the buttom of your screen ?

Click on it and click mixer

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok right click on computer and choose device manager

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

ok in the mixer click device and see what it shows up

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

remember we got the mixer by clicking the speaker to the buttom of the screen :)

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok in the device manager click on the +by sound

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok in the device manauger does it have any yellow marks especially near sound or audio devices or in it

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok right click anywhere on the tree view and selct scan for hardware changes

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

the list that shows up in the white box,, that type of listing is called a tree view, you can right click on anything in there and select scan for harware changes

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

no it has onboard audio, but apparently the drivers isnt there and it aint recgonisinging the hardware..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

we need to see if it finds anything

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

did you get a driver cd with your system ? besides your windows cd there is suppoded to be other cd,s one is the mainboard driver do you have it ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

OPk can you see the wires on the mainboard now?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

I need you to put your mainboard cd in the drive

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

in the back of your computer do you se any other audio jack,, besides the frount

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

the jacks or the cd :p

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

good and the ones to the top of the computer are connected to the board via the wires right?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

basically what we are attempting to do is this,, You board has an onboard sound card, and the one we took out is a seperate device.. we want to get the onboard to work ..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok place your mainboard cd in the drive.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

upon doing that the cd should automatically run and a menu should pop-up on the screen

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    a menu poped up yes?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    tell me what you see.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

yes as we were, does the menu that appers has anything about drivers ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

:) its ok ,, do you see anything about audio or sound ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok if thats the only audio driver there , Install it

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Are all those under audio ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

If its under audio in realtek then yesyou have a 64bit vista operating system so you will need a 64bit driver

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

if you get any errors whlile installing let me know

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

try the 32bit one,, I got a feeling that you got a 32bit version of windows :(

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok TRY the ones under vista 64bit first then try the 32 bit,, one is a setup.exe and the other is .msi.. they are both installers but for the same thing

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    Wait one sec...

When you placed the disc in the drive did it auto run bringing up a selection screen ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

does it display any divice about audio ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

:) thats in the folder brower , but when you put the cd inside there sould be a program that automatically starts which should automatically find the correct driver..

Is that program running or closed?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

    ok click start them computer

double click on the drive you have the cd in and it should start..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Is there a DRIVER TAB ? click the Driver tab

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

In the box where you type, there are 6 icons to the top

the second one is like a screen click it

    to upload image

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

It appers that the reason we cant find the correct driver is cause the computer aint uathenticating any devices

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Is your system still open. ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Ok look close to your battery you should see a jumper with 3 pins labeled jcmos,, of if you cant find it look for a jumper with 2 pnls labeled jcmos.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Jan 13, 2008

Actually if you cant find the jumper we can to it withoput that,,

memorise these few steps, we need to flash your main boad...

Need to recover drivers from my recover partation ( vista home b

Hi,
I suggest you to look for the device manager in the computer [Start--->Start search--->type devmgmt.msc and hit the enter button on the keypad] and download the drivers online .
Or some computers come with the recovery manager utility that helps you burn the recovery partition on the disc, since this is again brand specific,it would be easier if you mention the make of the computer that you are using.

The hard drive has failed.
Return to HP for free warranty repair.

Speakers wont work

Can you tell me what brand they are?

I can try to help without the brand name:

Go to start and hit control panel. Next click Sounds, Speech, and Audio devices. Click 'change speaker settings'. Click audio in the tabs. Click the droplist and select the speaker brand you have.

If that doesn't work, make sure the speakers are connected to the correct computer jacks. Green is the common speaker color, so hook the speaker wire into the green computer input.
Pink is microphone, so that could be the problem.

Hope I helped!

Printer all in one and I want to scan a picture to my computer, when I hit the scan button get the blinking lite but nothing else. what am i doing wrong new computer

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP C3180) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.

This is a brand new computer? If it is HP needs to make arrangements to repair or replace. This should not happen with a new computer. Something is defective. This is their problem not yours.

Microphone

Hey Marie,
Try doing a test recording in the Windows media recorder. Chances are you will get a wave signal if it has an internal mic.. Usually laptops have built in mics but descktops don't.
Hope that helps,

Acer Extensa 5620 HD and LCD screen problems

Unfortunately, the only way to repair the screen, is to send the computer back to acer. The prolem, is that the diode that controls one of the RGB Channels is broken, and since there are a million of these the size of a pin tip, it is extremely hard. As for the vista install problem, it could be a bad hard drive, try installing a new one, and if that doesn't work try finding the drivers it needs, and installing them somehow.
