Question about EliteGroup ECS G733 Notebook
I bought a used g733 and it will not power up (no led). I think that there is a problem with the Adapter plug, but I can not get it apart. I removed the keyboard, button cover and all the exposed screws but the case top will not separate from the bottom. It seems to be attached in the center on the led side of the button cover hole. This was supposed to be sold as a customized laptop, but I can not find ANY internal or tech information on it.
I had the same problem like yours, but the only solution I can truely endorse is from Totit who suggested that inside the laptop, there is a 1500uF 6.3V capacitor among the others that is blown. As he said, if you know how to open up your lap top, there is a chance of fixing it. I just finished mine, and it works fine now. But disassembling G733 is not as easy as ABC. I learnt it step by step and partially from seeing how my friend - a former ECS pcb technician in the orient, who tried to help me to fix mine. Let me lead you through when I have more time in the days to come. Aparently no one here gave us better suggestions than Totit. I have once wrote to ECS, and you can guess what kind of "official" reply I could expect to receive.

Check the back of the LT. You may have missed some screws that hold the Mobo to the chassis or the LCD hinges to the chassis.
