Re: sky+ satallite receiver
You can find out if the remote is broken by taking a camera with an LCD viewfinder (such as a camera phone) in a dark room, point the remote at the camera and in the viewfinder you will see a light coming from the remote if it is working. If you see a light, chances are the remote is good. If not then the remote is more than likely bad. .
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.
The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.
If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.
Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.
hi there,if you have a camera phone turn the camera on and point the remote at the lens.press a button on the remote and you should see a white light on the phones screen.this indicates the remote is ok,which then means most likely cause is a faulty sensor on the box itself.this tip works on any remote control.
Or you could try the remote on a friends box maybe?.
best of luck,
ps.another tip is to unplug the box for a few minutes, and then see if it works ok.
Please determine if the "Audio" button is actually working.... after pressing the audio button, can you still control the DVD, if not then the remote has switched to the Onkyo. Although, this is not 100% conclusive, unless you have a 2nd remote to test the Onkyo with, it provides a sound basis to proceed.
Assuming the remote is transmitting and the IR receiver on the front of the Onkyo is not otherwise blocked, likely faults include the IR receiver, input to the Micro processor, and the Micro processor.
The most probable fault is the IR receiver.
Thank you for using Fixya, and if I can help you further, please let me know.
Hi there. I hope you will see this reply. I bought one of these TV's yesterday and I've got the code from my dad's website www.satcure.net
If your remote is Version 6 then you will be able to follow the help on the sky box under Interactive Customer service Program Remote
Then follow the steps using code 1221
If you have a Revolution 8 remote then you will have an easier job but with a 3 digit code.
3 digit code is 253
TO PROGRAM THE remote USING THE 3 DIGIT CODE: 1. Turn
on the TV receiver 2. Press TV on the Sky Remote Control 3.
Hold down SELECT and the RED buttons together for approximately two
seconds, until the RED LED on the Sky remote blinks twice. 4.
Enter three digit code from list for the receiver (early versions now
flash twice). 5. Press select to enter code structure (the LED
will flash twice if a valid code has been entered). 6. Now press
the STDBY button and test other functions.
0 1 select
make sure the power is turned ON
now go to the room you can not change the sky channels over with.
you should notice on the magic eye itself should now have a Red led light on it now. you should now be able to change the channel over just remember to press the blue sky button on the remote at the top otherwise this will not operate the sky box.
If not unplug this magic eye and try this directly into RF out 2 to make sure that its not the magic eye that is at fault. If it is working correctly then the light will appear.
Dont think so
Try resetting it by this method,it might work
To perform a RESET press [TV] and then hold [select] and [red button] together for around two seconds (until the red light blinks twice). Now press 999 (red light blinks once for a long time and then twice quickly).
