You can reset bios with 2 methods.
(1) Pull CMOS cell from motherbord for 10 minutes.
Then power up the computer 2 times.
Then all settings are defaults.
Then reseat the cell.

(2)You can RESET all settings with jumper settings.
Find jumper on mothebord named "Clear Cmos" It has 3 pins 1-2-3
Set jumper in 2-3 position then power up the computer then again put jumper in 1-2 position then all settings of bios are RESET.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hello,
You can simply unplug the power cable from behind the cpu. Then, pull out the little round shiny battery for about 10 or 15 minutes. Put in back the battery after 15 minutes and plug in the computer and press the power button. Now you should get a message that says CMOS or BIOS settings have been reset.

You have now successfully reset the bios!

Thanks,
Lolita

How to reset the bios system in compaq computer.

i dont know which compaq system you had, but generally there are two ways to reset bios
1. short the bios reset jumper near battery on motherboard for a while and place it back, it will reset the bios. 2. take out the battery from motherboard for some time and put it back to motherboard it will also reset the bios
if there is no password problem then just load bios default from the bios menu.

Forget BIOS Password (Laptop - IBM Thinkpad Lenovo R60)

For that you need to reset factory defaults settings for bios.
For reset bios u have to open back side of your laptop then u find motherbord circuit there.
pull cmos cell on motherbord for 15 minute then it reset to defaults.
Also u can reset with jumper settigns read carefully on mother bord there is 1 jumper near cmos cell u read there " bios reset or clear"
It is on 1-2 position right now set it in 2-3 position then power up then all bios settings are reset.
then again set it in 1-2 its original position.

Bios reset

As another option you could try resetting the jumper. Some boards save the password regardless unless the reset the BIOS by using the resetting jumper. Refer to the motherboard's manual for further information on how to do this.
