Re: lost TV picture
I noticed that you were having some difficulty with ratings or something. But I also don't see a solution to your problem. The problem you have is not common and could be anything from electronic to software fault in the EEprom. I would have the transmitting on the remote tested first. It can be done without the TV at a repair technician that has the relevant tools. Note: Don't know who you communicated with, but this service is free as far as we are able to help people like yourself with basic information. Like myself and all the others we do not get paid to sit on this site and certainly don't expect ratings. We monitor our ratings to see how many people we could help with their problems and for me personally, is enough. If you have any question please mail Fixya direct. Good Luck with the problem, JUS004

If channel 3 is skipping by the unit when pressing the channel button key at the front panel, it might be accidentally deleted on the channel selection. If you don't have a remote control, there's no way to add it on the selection. All you have to do is to re-scan the channel by entering to Set-up Menu. Press the Menu button key repeatedly at the front panel to show the "On Screen Menu". Select " EZ Program" to automatically finds and store the channels available at your area. Once the scan is finished, you can now watch all the channels available including channel 3.

These instructions come from the RCA website. The crucial step
is to keep pressing the reverse button.
Turn on the component (the tv, dvd, etc).

Press the play button every five seconds until the
component turns off.
Each time the Play button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF
button blinks ten times and a block of 10 codes is sent to your
component. This process continues until all the codes in the Code
Lists have been searched. If the component has not turned off after
all codes have been searched, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks
four times, turns off, and the Auto Code Search Entry method is

codes sent. Each time the REVERSE button is pressed, the

If the REVERSE button is accidentally pressed after the
component responds, press and release the FORWARD button. Wait two
seconds to see if the component turns off again.

Its possible that you changed the channel or the input line your TV gets the cable signal from. unless you caused more of a problem while trying to fix it, I would suggest you to go through the TV(not cable) channels to see if you can find the one that gives cable picture, or to go through the different input settings(TV/AV on older TV's, and 1, 2, 3 etc on newer ones). one general icon for the later is an arrow going into a circle. I think its the "select" button on your TV remote.
