When i turn on my ps3 it displays a black screen

Note this will reset you user prefaces,
1- Turn the standby switch off so the red light turns off too, then you turn the system back on
2- Then place your finger on the power button for a total of 4 beeps to access the recovery menu. It might not work on the first attempt but it will on the second.
3- The display will instruct you to connect your controller to the PS3 and press the enter button. A list of menus will appear on your display. The choices are as follows: Restart System, Restore Default Settings, Restore File System, Rebuild data base, Restore PS3 system, System update
4- Select Restore Default Settings.
