Yes i kept trying and trying. I even plugged it in the Power and tried it. After awhile I came back and tried it again and it worked! Upon closer notice, I noticed that it was between two pages...the menu list and list of songs. What causes this and how can I prevent this from happening again?

Thank you for taking the time looking into this for me. Have a great day!

Have you tried resetting it? Press the center (Select) button and the Menu button at the same time and hold for at least 10 seconds or until you see it reset.

I'm not sure why it happens. Ipods are like cellphones and computers. They run on hardware, firmware, and software and from time-to-time they lock up. It does not happen to me often, but occassionally it does. I can't tell you how many times people have told me the reset would not work but after some persistance it ultimately did.

By the way, I don't get paid for this. I know it's a strange hobby, but I like helping when I can. If you found any of this helpful I hope you'll take one second and give this a good rating.

It may be the type of file you're playing on it. See on my ipod, I was trying to play a episode of family guy. Sadly, the file was bad. I had to remove it off my ipod and find another place to download it from. That's what you may have to do

Nano shows song playing but nothing happens

Make sure your headphones are working properly by testing with your computer headphone jack.

Is the headphone port on the Nano loose?

Connect the Nano to your iPod dock and see if you can head audio through the docks headphone jack.

If the headphones work, and you can get audio out of the dock headphone port, then there is a problem with your Nanos headphone jack.
