disconnect everything from the computer and try it again:)other wise it sounds like a hardware issue that you may have to take to the shop. the good news is that it is probably not the hard drive and most likely your data is intact:) sorry for your trouble and good luck:)
There are multiple things that can cause this, I'll briefly describe them and solutions.
It could be having issues spinning, causing a forced spinning whirring sound. This is most often caused by dust and can be fixed by buying some compressed air computer duster.
It could be overheating, many laptops have this issue. When a computer heats up, the BIOS tells the computer to increase fan power, causing a more noticeable fan whirr. This can be changed in BIOS settings, but I do not suggest it, or you can buy an under the laptop fan to help cool down the laptop.
It could be breaking, in which case buy an under the laptop fan to prolong your laptops life, however if this is the case your laptop may only have a year or two left and I suggest you start making regular backups of important files.
Hello there! Noisy Sounds can be much frightening, but if you could determine from where the sound is coming on you will get the solution, the sound makers inside a pc are mostly fans, and what type of sound you are actually hearing, rattling sounds means some wires touching up the C.P.U Cooler fan, another one could be a loose fan on the SMPS.
Solution to this is to Check all the Fans Do so by
1. Remove the Cabinet cover on one side and Start the machine and try to see and determine what actually is making the noise, rattling sound could be a wire or something touching the fan, if its okay, then listen for the SMPS fan.
Hope this Helps.
I'm sorry to say this sounds like a system board failure. On my HP DV200t, a very similiar issue occured, eventually only the led where you plug in the power cord would turn blue. I replaced the system board and all the issues went away.
Hope this helps, and I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Either compressor is going bad or the fan is rubbing. There is a condensor fan that comes on only when the compressor starts. So check the fan out first to make sure that it is not rubbing or moving around. If that is not then check the compressor by letting it run for about 5 minutes then touch the top of the compressor. BE careful as it can be extremly hot that will show you one of two things either bad compressor or condensor is dirty and a garden hose with a jet blast of water will solve the problem. If that doesnt work either compressor is bad and will either need to be replaced for about 250 dollars or unit will need to be replaced
You should be able to use the Realtek AC97 codecs for your machine. You have a choice of standard AC97 (probably the one you're looking for) and the AC97 HD (also available from the same link). One of them will work with your PC.
