Try to reset it. Press and hold the
Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at
seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to
charge iPod touch until it is fully
If this doesn't work, try restoring the iPod from within
The songs that you are trying to listen to are in a format that the Coby doesn't recognize - it is not compatible with iTunes, for instance. Also, it is not compatible with certain types of DRM-protected WMA's. The only way to have unqualified success with this player is to use songs that are in mp3 format.
You might have multiple issues. On the one hand, the songs you have tried to load could be in the wrong format - I know that the specs say that it reads WMA's, but there are many, many asterisks behind it's WMA playback ability. I would only load songs in Mp3 format.
Additionally, your DB is corrupt. Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager for your model # at www.usasupport.philips.com, and then click the "Update" function once it is installed. The update wil lresolve your issue.
The Sansa player will only recognize certain file formats. The songs with a Red X are not eligible to be transferred to your player, because their DRM license does not allow transfer to certain (or any) mp3 players.
It is best to use songs that are in mp3 format only. They will give you fewer headaches.
Insignia mp3 players are a little buggy in that they occasionally get file system problems that cause strange things like this to happen. First backup your songs from the mp3 player, and select "erase internal memory". That actually reformats the memory. Then put your songs back on the mp3 player. If it still doesn't work, please advise.
