My DAV-C450 does not play DVD's anymore. Everything was working fine, then it would only play in the #2 slot. Then it quit playing all together. When I put the disc in and hit play, the play display comes on and then says "no disc". Can anyone help. Thanks

It is possible that your system is gettting overloaded and makes the sfety cicuit switch off . This is the protecction circuit to prevent further damage and fire within the system particularity when the output or power is shorted. Check from the speakers for short remove and test . Also use a multimeter to test for short in the output drive. If so disconnect and see if the protect releases. Then you must replace the outputs. Check also the protect cicuit for a false alarrm due to wrong biasing. Hope this advice helps to figure out. Good day
To repair your original remote, open the remote and remove the buttons sectio.(normally a solid piece of rubber with the buttons) On the PC board of the remote, clean with a scotchbrite scourer to revive the circuits and make it shiny. Next, clean the rubber button section on the inside with surgical spirits. Replace cover and fit new batteries.
are you sure that the channel your tv is on matches the name on the inputs where you plugged the component cables in? Channel surf-maybe start at 2 and go down and that is where those input channels should be.
When "protect" appears on the front panel display, it means that the speaker protection circuit is in function. Visually check all your speaker connections at the back of the unit and at the back of each speaker as well. Make sure none of them are shorting out. If that is not the problem, turn off the unit, disconnect all speakers, turn unit on and verify that problem is gone. If gone, one of your speakers or wires are defective. If problem persists, the DAV-C450 internal circuitry might be in need of service. Never connect or disconnect speakers with the unit powered on. Hope this helps.
are you using discs with labels that you out on your self? I had a similar problem before and my label peeled off in the player causing it to get stuck., you might just have to take it apart, and get the label out.
This is an easy fix. All you need to get is a CD/DVD-Player Laser-Lens Cleaner for about $5.00. You can get these at Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, or any similar place.
Use this, and let me know how it works for you.
