Need to upgrade wgr614 The techniction support told me to upgrade my router to upgrade the number is wgr614 could you please help me thanks chester holt

There are 9 versions of your router (v1 - v9). You will have to turn the unit over and see which it is then go to the following page:

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGR614.asp

Select the page that corresponds to your router. The firmware should be listed for download and the instructions to do this are listed directly on the page.

Drops the internet connection and has to be rebooted at least once a day.

Try to reduce the MTU of the router. If you're on DSL, set the MTU size to 1492, for Cable connection size is 1400 or 1463. You can do it on the router's admin page http://192.168.1.1

Problems regestering

Someone have, most likely, allready had the router connected to the internet, - and registered it, then changed his mind and returned it to the shop.
You do the same, - no repair is needed, you just want a NEW router.
