If u can get to the INSIDE front, clean the window of the receiver eye.(of cause the outside also!) If the wires going to the board can be unpluged, unplug, the push it back in. Possable that the receiver eye circuit is too heated up.Put a small (square boxed computer type fan) in the back of the tv to cool it down some.If u know how to "glue" a HEATSINK to the chip to get rid of the heat, may help.
note: it is possable that BOTH regulor and universal r/c are intermittance (sometimes works, sometimes don't work)

VW37L 37 in. LCD HDTV input button wont work

Have you find out if the problem is with your remote control? For instance, you are able to control your TV using a Universal remote control. My 32" Vizio TV had a similar problem, initially thought it was related to my remote control but in fact the TV didn't respond either to an universal remote control of my SAT receiver that I eventually use to just turn on and off the TV. I've found out that the problem was with a little board on the TV located at the left down corner viewed from the front side of the TV and that receives the signal from the remote control. I found the board on ebay for about $5, replace it and the TV responded again to both original and universal remotes.

Return the tv universal remote where u bought it,get ur money back.If none of the tv univeral romote programming codes on the owner manual codes for ur tv make and model don't even work and don't have any responses for ur tv make and model functioning all.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote or a very closed compatible clone one.

I have a UMC TV /DVD Combi the remote control i got with it no longer turns the TV on or off, so i bought a universal remote and it cant seem to find the code for the remote so i was wondering would anyone...

First of all, did you put new batteries in the remote control?
That usually solves the problem, because when the batteries get weak
the output infrared signal also gets weak.
With a new universal remote control, there is a booklet containing the
codes to use for many different TV receivers. If your specific TV model
is not listed, try using one that appears to be similar to it. If that does
not work, try turning your TV on with the new universal remote. If you
can turn it on, then you may be able to have the universal remote
program itself by interacting with your TV. Turn it on and hold the
remote so that it points to the TV set and hold it there for about 30
seconds. Then try turning the TV off and on again and try to use
the channel change feature. Try this a few times to give the TV and
the remote a chance to talk to each other. Keep the remote pointed
toward the TV.

Hi, I have a Yamaha rx-v450 amp that won't change sound modes (stereo, hall, jazz, rock etc) from the remote control but it works from the buttons on the unit. I've checked my remote by pointing it...

Hi! Transmitting doesn't mean it's working, What you should do to test it is use a good quality universal remote such as a Logitech Harmony and first program the preset code for your receiver into the Universal Remote. If that works, you know your OEM remote has gone bad, at least for those buttons. If it doesn't then you you should attempt to have your Universal Remote "learn" the IR signals from your receiver's remote If the controls still don't work, there is a problem with either your IR receiver on your receiver or the the circuitry that proceesses the signals into commands. Good Luck!

Goog day. I have a Samsung LE40A559 LCD TV and about a week ago it stopped responding to the remote. Remote itself is working as when the TV is off and I push buttons on the remote the blue light on TV...

The flashing blue light shows that the TV is receiving I.R. from the remote but doesn't mean that the signal being received is recognized by the Samsung. If you have a "universal" remote then your TV code may need to be re-entered/reprogrammed...changing batteries in a "universal" will usually require it to be reprogrammed.

Also...because of the remotes construction (rubber membranes with carbon dots that short across PC traces) I've seen certain buttons stop working altogether.

Remotes not working for tv

You have already diagnosed the problem, the remote receiver on the tv is bad,is rare but it happens but before you call for help try unpluging the tv from the wall for 10 minutes and then plug it back in and try it,sometimes this takes care of the problem,if that does not do it you will need the help of a servicer ,your remotes are working but the receiver is not processing the information. If you are familiar with tv service it should be easy to locate the receiver, sometimes is soldered to the chassis and sometimes is part of the push button assembly and conected to the chassis by wires,if is part of the push button is easier to replace,if you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and ask for help.
