Re: Problem with DDR

There might be another problem, different rams have different Hz configuration, u'll find a sticker on the ram module with it's Hz, just make sure that both rams have the same Hz, otherwise they won't work together.

Got to the web site below it will take you to your board. Scroll down to the bottom. Listed there is the memory that has been tested to work on your board. If you think your memory might be bad download this memory tester. Use one dimm at a time when testing. The program is called CrystalMark 2004R2 ( Download at:

Re: Problem with DDR

If the memory is good (test it on another comp. ) it may be possible that the motherboard does not support that type of memory (happens !! ), or it supports that quantity of memory only on one slot . U must get the motherboard;s manual and read there if they are any particularities..... (sometimes , very rarely, there are BIOS settings ...that may interfere ... )

Does D915GLVG support DDR2 ram

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Anish Nitin.

Unfortunately your Intel D915GLVG only supports DDR memory up to a maximum frequency of 400MHz. It also supports 333MHz frequency as well.

Therefore the maximum/fastest is DDR400 also called PC3200. In those days when the memory was manufactured they made 1GB modules.
If you would like to upgrade this computer install 2X DDR400/PC3200 1GB memory modules.

Take care!

Memory upgarade

Yes, it will work. Remember that all memory will operate at the speed of the slowest memory though so unless you're completely replacing the memory it won't increase the speed of the memory.

Was your 1gb stick DDR PC2700? Most likely that is why. Although the pin set are both 184 pin, you will be downgraded to the lowest speed available, meaning PC3200 (DDR400) will downgrade to PC2700 (because PC2700 can't be upgraded to PC3200).
