One chip is on the bottom but the other is beneath the keyboard. I removed the 2 "K" screws but still no luck with the keyboard. Could not detect any tabs around the edge of the keyboard. Thanks.

Sorry, did not even see the web site pointer when I first read your post. Problem solved and many thanks. I had been looking for M6000 info not z70 without any luck. Thank you once again.

Most laptops have a compartment with a led held by a screw on the bottom of the laptop, look under there, typically 1 or 2, RAM and/or Harddrive

Need to know how to install additional ram

There is a little door under the laptop, with a couple screws.
If you open it, you will see the ram modules.

They are easy to remove and replace with additional (if empty slot available) or upgraded ram.

What type of RAM is your Pc using? SDR, DDR1 or DDR2? 1 GB single module of RAM maight be heavier for your notepad and the Laptop maight even fail to boot. Just use the 2 Modules of Ram (2 chips each 512MB) and check in BIOS if the RAM capacity has acually changed.

Where is the ram positioned in the pc Asus M6000

The RAM compartment for the Asus M6000 series notebooks could be accessed by turning the notebook upside down. You will find in the middle of the down-side a cover with 2 screws. If you unscrew these 2 screws, you can access the RAM slots.

You got two memory ports. One on the bottom of the unit. The second one is on top of your Notebook. To reach it you have to remove the keyboard. There are three small points on the top of the keyboard to unlock it. Under the keyboard you will find a metal protector with one screw which protects the second ram...
By the way: The Bios only recognizes up to 2 of ram.

Where is the expansion slot for the RAM for ASUS Notebook A2400H?

The manual is incorrect. Memory is under keyboard. There is a small hole to the left of the right speaker. insert a paperclip vertically into the hole and apply a slight amount of pressure at the same time sliding the plastic section to the left. It should be obvious at this stage. then fold back keyboard. 2 memory slots are located under the plate near the middle of the unit. Specs say max of 2 x 512MB modules. they are PC2100 DDR266 200 pin SODIMM. If there is someone else reading this maybe they can tell me what the slot is for under the smaller plate to the right of the memory compartment.

Cheers.

Accessing memory (RAM) to upgrade

First of all, remove the battery

Insert a thin object under the securing strip and lift it up.
Be careful, it may be very tight.

Remove the securing strip.
Carefully work with finger to disengage plastic latches securing the securing strip.

Remove three screws and a metal brace securing the keyboard.
Lift off the keyboard and place it on the palmrest

Now you can access the memory modules.
