Re: overheat

My geforce 4 cards fan took a dump on me once.Check it for dust. and/ or movement.
You need better air movement through your case. Make sure everything is clean of dust. Get a bigger case fan and also add one in the front of the case if possible.
Dont have anything in back of your case for 2 feet.Or on the sides where there are vent holes...
How old is it, it may still be under warranty. They are good at replacements...

My "Assassins creed" doesn't work after half hours playing...

Firstof ll you should check wethr you have the latest update (1.02) installed for the game. If so, try reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work either, since Assassins creed is quite a GPU intensive game, it could be your graphics card that overheats. Download this program: GPU caps viewer v1.7 from: Install it, start playing, after about 20 minues, check your GPU temperaur. If it is more than 70 degrees, u will need better cooling for your graphics card. If you need any help finding that, please post it here. I hope this helps, Yannick

Video cuts out suddenly, have to reboot

Check to see if your video card is excessively hot. It sounds as if your video card is overheating and going into thermal protection.
A lot of times, when the GPU is damaged it will overheat as one of the final signs before it's impending death.
If this is the case I would replace it.

Garbled display with Geforce 7600GS

From experince I would still say this is a heat issue, I just went though this with my HD4870 ATI card. I was using an after market cooler wich was insuficent for cooling. All the symptoms point to a heat issue. Also since the card is 2 years old, its a good chance the VRM's have fried and any heat causes the card to basicaly shutdown in a manner of speaking. you could try getting the Accelero S1 cooler that would replace the fan on the card, then attach 2X120mm fans. Only problem is you can buy a newer better card. for example the 8600 GT is about 80-90$
