I would suggest restarting the system. Shut down the PSP, remove the battery, let it stand for a minute or so, put the battery back in place, start up the PSP. When the PSP is starting, do NOT touch anything. Moving the control could cause the PSP to assume that moved position is the neutral base position. If this does not fix it, contact Sony directly.
Based on your concern, I suggest trying the followingsteps:
1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable.
2. Press the "home" button on the PSP
--> at the lower left of the screen you can see the home button.
3. Use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings",then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
4. Press the "X" button, your PSP should display"USB Connection".
5. Please wait until your computer tells you that a new USB devicehas been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
6. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
7. Now look for ISO folder then copy your desired game (ISO file)into the folder.
8. When you're done copying your desired games, press the"O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.
9. To play the game, Use the left-right arrows to move to the gamearea, then the up-down arrows to find "Memory Stick". Chose thatfolder by pressing the "X" button again, and you should be able toplay all your favorite game!

First you need a wireless connection, like a wireless router. If you have that, move left on the home screen until you get to Settings, then down until you get to network Settings. Select Infrastructure Mode. Select New Connection. Name the connection, and press scan. Once if finds the network, connect to it, and now you can get internet by going all the way to the left on the psp home screen and selecting internet browser.
This could be a very simple problem. I have seen so many PSP's with this problem. There is something stuck in the gears that move the PSP left to right. Most of the time it is a plastic piece that breaks off the door hinge. If you are good at taking electronics apart, you can do this in 10 minutes.
you have to open it up and look at the d pad the rubber might be worn or damaged you can easily get replacements on the internet and they will do it for you if you want
