I have a Dell Dimension 2350 that the CPU fan went out, and the CPU was fried. After replacing the CPU and the fan, we now get the to continue message at bootup. It says no CPU fan detected. During the meltdown, something with the sensor must have been damaged. I have checked the wiring, and the new fan is a replacement from Dell. I just want to be able to bypass the error, and have it continue the boot process. The BIOS rev is A02, and Dell offers no later BIOS on their page. Is there a way to bypass this error? Thanks for any help.

I am getting the 'CPU fan not detected' message on my Dell Deminsion 2350 and I also hear noise from the CPU fan. My problem is I can not find a conventional replacement. My question is can a universal CPU fan designed for my P 4 CPU be used in place of the fan and shroud from the factory?

Use a 3 wire fan, switch the wires to correct placement i.e. black/red/white and everything works just fine, no more error

Often this issue can be resolved in many Dell desktops in the BIOS. If present, completely clear the event log. Then, if present, turn off keyboard error reporting. It worked for me on at least six Dells so far.

Cheers,

The cpu fan has a three wire connector that connects to the mother board. Usually located to the right & up from the cpu. If yours is connected currently the wires may be miss aligned. From left to right the pins are: first pin ground/Black; middle pin 12v./Red & last pin rotation/Blue. There may be a bios update that address this issue. Dell does not give up information easly.

There is a setting under the Power tab in the BIOS....ACPI Suspend Mode. Change this to S1 and save changes as Custom Settings in the Exit tab. This will resolve the issue. Just make sure your CPU fan really is operational.

It states cpu fan not on

Hope you can open the CPU and check the CPU fan. Try unplugging the fan power cable on motherboard and inseting again.
If it doesnt solve it, take out the fan (attached to the top of heat sink. Dont take out heat sink) and try with a battery of some 6 volt. Red +ve Black -ve. If it doesnt run, you need to replace that fan.

The dell dimentions 2350

Ensure that both the case fan and CPU fan are dust free and spinning. I think it could be overheating and then shutting itself off to prevent damage

My CPU fan for my Dell Dimension 2350 has stopped turning!

Hello,

If your fan is not turning at all then it is probably dead, the bearings are likely clogged with dust and such. The PC is shutting off because of heat buildup on the processor chip. You need to do an Ebay search for your model and order a fan right away. Continued running of your sysem without a fan will kill the processor and motherboard. You should be able to get a replacement fan for your computer for less than $15 including shipping. Your local computer store may have one to fit your system but they may charge more for it. To change the fan is very easy, the left side of the case will come off your system, right under the power supply is the processor and heatsink and the fan. Disconnect the old fan and reconnect the new unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution

Dell dimension 2350 shuts off after a few minutes

Definitely check the power supply fan and the CPU fan for dust. Overheating could be the culprit, good luck.
