LG HD Digital Video Recorder LST 5402P has...
My LG HD Digital Video Recorder LST 5402P has stopped projecting the menu to the TV screen. The remote works OK, but I cannot get the menu up so I appear to be limited to just changing channels and volume. This hapened previously, but was somehow accedentally reset but a visitor to the house.

- I have the same problem no menu displayed on teh screen and as well just installed a digital aerial and cannot get Prime HD any suggestions -

- I have the exactly the same problem, ie the menu is not displayed on the screen, but I can operate the drive via the remote, it is also now having difficulty with the auto tuning as well. It appears to be some sort of software problem, if some one has a solution or suggestion I would be grateful.

first i assume you are trying to watch the unit through AV. If this is the case, turn on unit, press "Display Format" on the front of the unit, keep press it till you have "YPBPR" displaying, press select on front panel, next press "Display Format" again till you come to 576i, press select. Now press menu and it should display. If this problem occurs with HDMI, simply change the display settings to HDMI, and 1080i. Hope it helps, Murder-face.

I bought one of these last week and tried installing it last night. Everything worked exactly as the install instructions said, all the tuning seemed to work, then right at the very end, the display on my TV went all stripey. I switched off the recorder, and back on again. I saw the Toshiba splash screen, for a second, then just the stripes again. The TV is clearly tuned OK or I wouldn't have seen the tuning screens. The SCART lead likewise. Toshiba support said to take it back to the shop. Of course it's not that convenient, getting it back to work for collection and redelivery etc. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions? Martin
