Wii remote hi my son's wii remote works on the menu screen and all other things. The problem comes when you start a game, say tennis or golf, and it won't let you swing at all. We bought it for him for xmas and it was working fine till a few days ago. I have totally turned off the system and reconnected everything but it still persists. any suggestions?? Cheers Trent [email protected]

Same problem today. We tried re-syncing the remote. We took the batteries out and reloaded. It still won't swing.

hi was having trouble with what i thought was the sensor bar - ie the exact problems you have been describing- i went and bought a new sensor bar and it worked for maybe a month then the same problems - surely this is a major fault within the console????? i certainly cant afford to go buy a new bar every month!! i found this happened with every game and not just a select few still waiting for an email from nintendo

I had the exact same problem and it happened shortly after getting the Wii. But I tried banging the remotes a few times as was suggested and it worked!!! For both of my remotes! I am so happy, because I had tried everything else, and we had resigned to not using the Wii until we could pay to get it serviced. Now it's good as new!!

Just before I wanted to give up on this wiimote (it's giving me a hard time for a while with shake and swing not working), I've tried this and it's working!!! If you don't succeed at first, give it a couple of tries, it will work for sure.

Turn the remote on each side and wack it on your palm three times each side. Don't kill it, just hard enough to loosen the sensor...its stuck.

Hey none of the fancy reset directions worked for me either, but I GOT IT TO WORK by banging it - 2-3 times on the right side in my palm, then 2-3 times on the left side in my palm. (Geesh... what kind of board did I just write that on??) Anyway, just whack away! It took a couple rounds of this whacking, but it did fix it. I had bought my remote second-hand off of eBay and was bummed I got a bad one, but this resolved the issue quite nicely and now I can kick three of my friends' **** in Mario Kart instead of just 2 at a time!

Had same problem. Remote would not sense motion. Took battery out then put back in. Then smacked it firmly, but not hard enough to break it 3 to 4 times on a hard surface.

That did the trick! Bowled a 160!

My son has two remotes so I guess if you don't play two player games a lot you should swap remotes every so often to keep the motion sensor limber.

No hand is showing upon the screen

Check to make sure the sensor bar is securely plugged in. My sensor bar quit working because the wire got damaged and I just went and bought a wireless one and rechargeable batteries. Mostly the sensor bar is only used for the menu and any games that have target shooting like billiards. You can bowl, play baseball, tennis, and golf without it on Wii Sports. I hardly ever use my sensor bar since discovering that it isn't used as much as I thought. We just turn it on load the game and shut it off and everything works perfectly on most games.

My wii remote works fine when I play with one player, but the first remote will not respond in tennis, baseball or golf when the second remote is added in a two-player game. What can be done to fix this?...

you have to remove the battiers from both of the controlers and put in new ones but they have to be the better ones cuz that's what i had to do to mine and then scyn both of them that should do it if not then you will have to go into the settings of the wii and go to the control screen and form there you can syc one at a time but you have to follow the instruction to the T or it will not work if that dosnt do it then you will have to go into the settings again and reset the wii to its defolt mode that i know will work for your problem

My wii remote

@ Slivic22
Some games does not use Sensor Bar pointing because they play with motion/accelerometer only. After you select the number of sets on Wii Sports Tennis, there is no Sensor Bar pointing except for Pause menu. That's because you Swing the remote like a racket.
