As for reasonably that is debateable. It is cheaper to take the TV to the repair than have a call out. Large TV's always have a transport problem and moving them can distort the frame and pop boards and damage the chassis if not carried in accordance with the instructions.
Therfore a repair such as yours coud escalate from 200 to 400 just by calling someone out. get a quote, or read the manual and transport it carefully as per the diagrams.

What is exact model??
This is a common problem with that set. The surround sound audio board is bad. It is about 130 dollars for a new one. That is the cost of the part and not a service call. Perhaps you can contact a service tech and see about getting the part for you. OR you can contact Hitachi direct and see if it is still in production. If you dont want to do these then you can get a home theater system and just bypass the in set sound all together.
