Re: paper jam?

I had similar situation, my HP 3650 did not have a paper jam but kept popping up saying it did. After some time checking the paper paths, I eventually went to "Windows Task Manager" then the "Services" tab looked for "Spooler" right clicked it and then selected "Stop Service", wait a few seconds then restarted the "Spooler" tried a Test page print and all is Fine now.

My System is Vista 64 Ultimate.
This would work with any Win XP or NT or Vista OS.

Re: paper jam?

There is most likely some paper jammed inside the printer. You just have to carefully look everywhere you can see to see if there might be a little bit of paper stuck somewhere.

Often blowing gently (and dryly) into the printer will dislodge whatever is stuck.

Error paper jam

Hello Cassandra,
It sounds like you are having phantom paper jams. When the printer starts a print job and tries to pull a piece of paper but can't grab it the printer thinks there is a jam but there really is not. If the paper pickup rollers are worn down they are not able to grab the paper correctly to feed it into the printer which causes this type of error. The rollers are considered user installable and come in a kit with the rollers and the paper separation pad which keeps more than one paper from being pickup up at the same time. Installing the paper feed kit should clear up your paper feed problems. The paper feed kit is available here:
I hope this helps.

The power light is flashing and the printer makes a grinding noise and won't print. There was a paper jam that i had to pull out prior to this issue.

Hello According to HP, follow these steps for resolving the issue
Remove the rear access door, or the automatic two-sided printing accessory, and check for any paper jams or paper obstructions. Remove any obstructions. Check to make certain the carriage is on the right side of the printer. Rotate the rear paper guide rollers upwards five times, then downwards four times. If the rollers will not move, open the top cover and slide the carriage to the right (if it is not already there and if carriage can move). Try to roll the rollers again while pushing the clutch in. If the rollers do not move, continue on to the next step. Figure Location of the clutch c00040832.gif Replace the rear access door accessory, or the automatic two-sided printing accessory. Close the top cover. Plug the power cable back in. Turn the printer on, and replace the cartridges if possible. If the carriage moves, but there is still a grinding noise, there may be a paper feed issue. If the carriage will not move, then it is a carriage stall issue. After installing the cartridge, if the printer has a solid power light, perform a self-test on the printer. Hope this helps, if so do rate the solution

Is there anyway to enable the 3650 printer to print on Kodak Premium Photo Paper. Paper weight 66 lb. thickness 8.5 mil. Printer jams each time I try to print

Hi Jerry
This is a budjet printer and ity's not really made for anything ohter than standard weight 'copier' typer paper.
66 lb. paper is equivalent to 240G paper here and that doesn't go though machines easily unless the paper feed is from the back. HP printers traditionally roll the paper around a roller and feed it back on itself. This paper (it's almost card) is too thick to go around the roller.
If you want to print a lot of this paper you are going to have to buy a new printer. I would recomment a Canon MP560.

Paper jamming problems with HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer . The paper feeds into the paper feeder but then it seems to get off line and the paper get stuck and actually tears in the feeder. The...

Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

I have a HP LaserJet 1320tn, after I changed the cartridge I keep getting paper jams just about where the paper meets the cartridge

Hi if you says that the paper gets jam at the fuser meeting point than i m sure that registration assembly which register the paper with toner cartridge is not working properly this is internal hardware fault.
It may caused due to faulty pickup assembly too.
There is a small **** manual feed tray try to print using manual feed and check if the problem persists then registration assembly is faulty if the it print fine from manual feed than Tray 2 pickup assembly or pickup roller is faulty.

Paper Jam

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Paper Jam

hi y'all -

you share a frustrating problem... error message but no apparent error (jam)! it's one that's common to many models of printers and the result of many different causes.

I've seen it when I've printed on cheaper paper, or different (lower) grades with odd surface finishes. the sensors get dirty, or the printer/computer 'thinks' there's paper stuck where none exists. I've opened/closed paper trays 2-3 times and rolled feed rollers around multiple times, then closed printer paper drawers only to have the 3rd time of doing the exact same steps be the time it cleared the error message.

there are often very tiny pieces of paper stuck in weird places in the paper path in printers, too. if you did have a jam before the message started, is every little scrap of the page accounted for? there are also hard to get to places to find paper scraps in larger printers, but I'm going to assume you're all talking about home printers.

here are a few general HP support links you may find helpful for future paper jam messages for this model of printer.

this link is for general info for this model:

here's a link addressing paper jams in general:

and here's one on cleaning your printer:

hope this helps a little bit for future refs. remember that using good paper helps print quality and lessens printing problems. also, when you take a stuck page out of a printer, doing so gently will help ensure little scraps of paper do not tear off paper edges and get stuck in weird spots. it some times helps to gently, manually, roll the feed rollers a full turn around in the printer, too. patience pays! -JW50

Always paper jam.

Check to see if something isn't blocking the paper path.

You could try cleaning the feed rollers as well.
