Question about Emerson EWD2203 DVD Player/VCR

Disk holder will not open when open/close button pushed

My Emerson EWD2203 DVD Player disk tray will not open. I have tried unplugging tne unit for 5 seconds and for 30 minutes then pushing the Open/close button after plugged in and power turned on, but it did not work. I held the open/close button in for about 10 seconds-no work. I am told thar there is a small hole below the tray but do not which hole to push the paper clip into or how hard to push to trip a lock latch. I can not find a button to lock the tray ( as to keep child from playing).

Why doesn't EJECT work?

there is a rubber band that opens and closes tray, it's located at front of player! You can get new ones on ebay or Amazon, or you can use the bands that kids make bracelets out of but they won't last long!

Emerson VCR/ DVD Player Model # EWD2203 makes clicking noises when I watch dvds

OK, first go through these steps:
(if they doesn't work, then you have to say good bye to the combo.

1.) check if your DVDs aren't scratched (very common)
2.) check if your DVDs aren't dirty (eg. somebody held it in his hands after he ate a juicy marmelade bread)
3.) Try to clean the head (lens) of your DVD player with a cleaning DVD (at least 5 times).

The laser lens is dirty. It is trying to read read read and it can't.

With the tray open, try cleaning the little lens thingie you see inside, at the bottom, with a moist cotton swab.

DVD side will not open, for the longest I could only get the DVD side to open if there was a disk in the slide yesterday the DVD side was closed with NO disk in it and now I can not open it

The DVD player in model DRC8295 uses a magnet to pull the Disc tray up into position. You can open up the front disc cover and push down slightly on the Disc tray and then push the open/close button to eject the tray. If this doesn't open the unit, you will have to unplug the unit and remove the cover. The cover is held in place by two silver screws on each side and five silver screws on the back of the unit. Once the cover screws have been removed, you can slide the cover towards the back halfway and then take the silver cover (held in place with two screws) off of the DVD player. Once the DVD cover is removed, insert a disc in the player and re-install the dvd cover and case cover. Plug the unit back in and eject and close the cover like normal. I have never tried to remove the magnet from the cover and checked to see if the DVD player still worked correctly. I have found it easier to just leave a Disc in it at all times. I leave a "Bad Disc" in mine and it opens/closes with no problems.

Open/close button for DVD does not work on my Sylvania DVD/CD/VCR player model DV220SL8

On most dvd players there is a little hole that is about he size of the end of a paper clip. A wheel is behind that hole, try using a paper clip or something similar in size and rotate the wheel, try both directions. If there is no hole under the tray just look under the tray.

Locked dvd tray.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
