You may have a short in one of your speaker wires, and the receiver is protecting itself, or you may have too many speakers connected, or be trying to make the sound louder than your receive can handle.

My pioneer XV HTD1 home theater system dvd/cd drawer/changer will not open when i try to open it it reads locked on the screen. how can i unlock this please?

Had this problem yesterday.......was getting v. frustrated. My good lady suggested removing the cover, so I did, when she wasn't looking. Turns out that two DVDs had come off the changer and were jamming the drawer. One was Stuart Little III which my girls had been looking for for months. Took the opportunity to bin that 'course, then told the wife that I'd managed to fix the player "Needed the reverse polarity torque resetting pet".
"So in other words I was right, a DVD was jamming it?" she said smugly.

I have the same problem with my XV-DV333. Search on inet and this came up: "... Pick Out One Of These! But I am unable to select any region using the remote control or the buttons on the player. What do I do? You need to get a Pioneer Service Remote. When you have it you should press: [ESC] [A.MON] [Numbers], where [Numbers] correspond to the region number you want to set. Be aware that you can only set this once, if you set the wrong region number for your area, there is no turning back. " WTF! Am I supposed to get a service remote to get this thing working again. I haven't done anything and it worked before:/
