Thanks to all as I took a rain check on a 19 inch Trutech today. Target can stuff all of them up Alcos bank account.
Sams Club has a Westinghouse 19 inch for approx. $30 more and it's made by Japan's Toshiba. (However it's spelled)!
Toshiba and Sharp, another Japan co. have joined together to give the China and Korean manufactures a jolt!
Heres another item that should be of interest: Funia, a China Co., makes Sylvaina, Emerson, Symphonic, Ilo and of course, Funai sets.
I have a new Sylvania and a new Emerson and they both streak when a written message appears. The message can be read but the streaks are irritating, plus there is snow in the background and sometimes noise bars that are silent and are generated by the rf amplifer, I believe.
They are junk.
Why do I keep them? I bought them just before leaving for a seven month journey which causes the loss of any warranty.
Lastly, when I called to get the remote codes the employee did not know what I was talking about! After being on "hold" for 20 minutes, she came back with four codes that were for sets made in the 1980's to early 1990's
I bought an Ilo and when Direct Tv did not have a remote code, I wanted to call the manufacturer but there was not a phone number in the owner's manuel.
I went back to Walmart and the service people did not have a clue, even after calling a couple managers. I took it back!
So good luck to all of you. Stick with Vizio, Westinghouse and I guess RCA is O.K. Visio's remote code numbers are 10178.
I have two of these perfect sets.
To explain how it is that I have so many Tv sets: I live in Florida in the Winter and New Hampshire in the summer, maintaininf two homes.
Take care of your cash!

As the previous post mentioned Trutech is produced by Alco but they are out of Toronto. I have been having dealing with a person in there office recently and they are going to be paying for shipping and the repair of a tv I purchased 6 months ago which is now dead. The 800 number previously listed is the service number provided by Target. The number of the service agent I have been working with is 905-477-787. Good luck.
