Lexmark X1270 won't grab on right when I try to print

Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris in the cartridge carrier's path or the paper path.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hey the printer keeps picking up all the paper in the tray and sliding it through without printing. what is causing this problem? if i put 1 sheet it still slides through without printing. Printer X1270...

It could be the cartridges in the printer. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover then unplug/re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
Wipe the cartridge nozzles using a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from clogs and dirts.
When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and make sure they are secured in the carrier. Load some paper and try to print again.

Paper Jam

It sounds like during one of these jams, a piece of paper was probably left over in there and maybe stuck "out of sight" in the paper path causing the paper to pulled to one side.  Look closely, my guess is that it is only a small corner of a page that is stuck in the path.

Lexmark z2300 printer won't pull in paper

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Lexmark x1270 paper jam

hah - I had this problem on my old 1270 - there is a jam - its just very small - mine was caused by half a peanut lodged under a pickup roller - take the back paper guide off and check carefully - it might just be a piece of grit - the paper will skew away from the point of the jam so see where it skews and check around there

hope this helps, cheers

sounds like the paper jam might have stripped some teeth off the gears in the printer or the motor might have failed have a visual look at the gears that pull the paper through if broke measure it and tell me how many teeth it has i might have one, or even the motor i have extra printers lexmarks for parts.

Paper wont feed propaly

Something probably fell into that tiny pinch of an area where the paper goes. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over, poke it if you have to, and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.
