Other than the usual stuff (power cord etc.), check that the lamp cover (not the lens cover) is securely covered. There's a safety mechanism preventing projectors from powering up if it isn't.

How to do lamp reset on panasonic pt-lb50u projector.

To reset the lamp hours, turn on the projector. Then press Menu and use the Up/Down arrows to highlight Options. Press Enter then highlight Lamp Runtime. Press and hold Enter for 3+ seconds until the Lamp Runtime screen is displays. Press the Power button (any other button cancels the reset). When the Power button LED turns red, unplug the power cord to the projector. You can either use the remote or the controls on the projector. Reconnect the power cord after a few minutes.

The reset instructions are on page 62 of the user manual. The manual is available from Panasonic here: https://support.panasonic.co.nz/docstore/PT-LB50U%20Operating%20Instructions.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Unit powers up then shuts off after a few seconds

The problem you are describing sounds like one of two issues. Either the lamp is bad and needs replaced, or there is a powericon1.png supply fault. If you have tried replacing the lamp already, make sure you reset the lamp counter or the projector may still not function properly.

does the temp warning light come on when the projector shuts off? if so, you may also try cleaning the air vent filters and ensure there is proper air flow around the projector. if that checks out then have the projector serviced as the power supply is likely suspect.
