I am trying to install the drivers for an HP networked printer and the driver keeps crashing every time I try to run the installation program.

I have followed the instructions on this page

as well as

It's on a Vista 32 bit laptop. I couldn't find any vista specific instructions. I can't remember the exact model number, since I am working remotely.

- Headstrong: This is a brand new printer, not an older one. HP's drivers for newer printers are typically bundled together. In this case, I am positive I have the right drivers as I am installing from the cd as well as from a downloaded driver package which I know to be correct.

- I am having the same problem. HP Photosmart C7280. Fatal Error 1310 Config.Msi/xxxxxx.rbf then after working with Hp support i have MSL.AiOscan error. Running Vista Enterprise 32 on a Dell D830. Have downloaded latest drivers from HP web site. Can't install drivers fatal error every time; 6 times.- pete555947

- I have a C3180 HP printer. When I run up the HP Solution Centre, I get the massage that "Scan.MSI" not available the get alot of nuisan be for getting to scan further.

I try to uninsatall all HP drivers and re-intall them again bu still not work. What should I do to resolve it?- cwlee338

Some programs on Vista require you to be logged on as Admin to run them correctly ... Who knows why ? Only B G could answer such a question.

This applies to the majority of 3rd party programs as well, although i'm not entirely sure why this would happen with a printer driver, but it may be worth a shot eh ?

you need to check the model of the printer on HP.COM for drivers, HP does not support, does not and have will not have drivers for a bunch of printers, usually older printers.

I have with some success installed the old HP III driver for any HP laser printer on any windows version including Vista. this of course will give you basic printing functionality.

I have a HP PSC 2355 all-in-one and I acnnot scan anything with Omnipage pro 16, it says that the Scan.msi file is needed and cannot find it.
Can anyone help ????
